Photoshop Help Thread.

Probaly dont the way I speed through the new layer thing.. im not sure.

i hav a prob wif my photoshop... its kinda hard to explain so if u dun understand pls ask....
when ever i use the lasso tool n circle something... it will take the exact shape of my mouse movement.... means it will be jagged... but in the past it used to bcome a nice circle... then when i add vector mask, it cuts away the surrounding.... in the past it will make the background overlap the surrounding...

ps. my photoshop suddenly bcame like tis bcos i created a new user acc in my comp n deleted my old acc as it is corrupted...

p.s.s. my comp is a shared one so i hav user accs to log into when ever i turn on my comp...

Well sry for putting this in show off alil but my border options wont work, this is what I do.



This is where I press CTRL-A


Showing you I have the rectangle marquee tool.



Then I do this and press ok.



And I end up with no border. Help plz!

Immortal- Your links seem to be broken to me so i'll try to go help ya without knowing your exact situation. After you create a new layer (make sure layer is on top of the rest), and then you do CTRL+A to select all, then go to edit-stroke (or whatever menu the stroke is in). Here, after you choose the pixel size of your border, and pick the color, MAKE SURE THE LOCATION IS SET ON INSIDE. i'm not sure, perhaps center would also work, but inside is just as good. if you had it set on outside the border would create itself a pixel beyond your selection, which in this case would be beyond your workspace (therefore it wouldn't show). hopefully that helps some- if it doesn't then sorry.

Look on the top where it says "feather" If its at 0, thats why. Put it at around 20.

I have a question, when I download fonts from dafont.com where do I put them and how do I use them?

installing your fontz (looks cooler with a "z")

1) Go to either "Start-Control Panel-Fonts" or "My Computer-C Drive-Windows-Fonts". Both end up going to the same exact folder, just depends on which one you want to go to.

2) Now open up the zip folder that the font came in, and move the font file (it should be a True Type file or something like that- with the two T's on it, sometimes its a O, sometimes its a red A.

3) That's it! The font is automatically installed onto your system, and it is ready for use on Photoshop.

Make sure it's saves as jpeg jpg png gif bmp tif tiff swf

yea make sure they saved right and if they did use show[url=http://img223.imageshack.us/my.php?image=flamingskulls5xk.jpg][/url] image to friends from imageshack

when i find a pic(render that i want) i dont know how to isolate just the part i want as my render i tryed using Filter - extract but i cant get it to come out clearly.

I have installed a new op to my new hd (sata shit)...And reinstalled ps too.
The problem is this:When i want to save a picture as .jpg I can't do it,cause there are just theese posibilities PHOTOSHOP, TIFF, PNG, PHOTOSHOP RAW etc. file formats .... but nowhere .jpg, or .bmp or .gif ... wtf ? devilish:
How can I save my pic to jpg format ... ?

Hey guys. I just made my first sig today and it looks wonderful! But I'm having a problem... My sig is animated. Basically, it is black originally, then it slowly turns to a reddish shade, then turns back to black. This uses like 20+ animation frames. Now for my problem. When I started out, I made the pallete size wrong, so when I was saving for web, I had to change it... Now, I made it a size acceptable by this forum. I tried to upload to photobucket and for some reason, it just kills the picture, and its not even oversized! Then I just made the sig smaller when saving as an animated GIF, so I could upload to myspace servers...Now a new problem. When I save the image and open the file, it animates going red, then while coming out of red, back to black, it just stops, like the animation is done or something...Whats up with that? And when I uploaded to my myspace picture, it didn't even animate! WTF?! Someone help me please. O, and sorry for posting on such an old thread lol...
