I agree.

Eventually, our bodies will become immune to the shit, and diseases will effect us even easier, because now our treatments are feeding the disease. Replacing organs is risky, too. The person has the potential to die during the operation. If we removed medication, and any other way to heal ourselves of illness or injury, then we would end up being less careful with our wellbeing, cause hey! I can just buy an organ and be all better! Not gonna happen in my eyes.Medicines actualy help the immune system grow defenses. ![]()

i dont think stem cells should be used to create people unless those clones can be considered to be as much of a person as the original host. no way would i allow cloning people to harvest their organs or cloning people for soldiers if i was in power. not for moral reasons but because the declaration states we are all equal
somehow though, i think someone's gonna argue that they were never "born"
05-24-2005, 11:12 AM
I can see how that would complicate things.
05-24-2005, 11:18 AM
It would kind of bring up a lot of confustion ( Spelled it wrong...)

Its about Growing organs in special enviroments. ![]()

yes but the issue will come up even stronger if we start cloning organs. cloning whole organs is one step closer to cloning humans even if arent going to do it
05-25-2005, 12:10 PM
Well, the cloning of humans is going to happen sooner or later, regardless of law. So, we might as well deal with it, and just encourage the cloned organs idea. I have officially decided that I think this is a good idea.

As an Atheist, I have absolutely no problem with the idea of the cloning of organs or stem-cells for medical uses. In fact, I would support the cloning of people, given they don't have full sentient consciousness, nonreligious people would endorse owning somone without complete thoughts as a helping hand around the house. Hell, if they don't know they're there, I don't have a problem with them cleaning my house.

Umm...wouldn't that be taking advantage of the mentally handicapped? That is an actual charge. I mean, would it still apply to a clone?
05-30-2005, 04:09 AM
maybe the clones can be altered to have less independency like the clones in star wars

ive been aware of stem cell research and it mainly just replaces bad cells and since i actually have type 1 diabeties this could help me and many other people with those kinds of diseases good job posting this jediyoda

I still stand by my statement.
Viva la clones! Also, how is it considered taking advantage of the mentally handicapped when they're practically upright dogs with opposable thumbs? It'd be cool.
06-01-2005, 11:21 AM
that would be a question argued from a moral or religion vs science standpoint
06-01-2005, 04:15 PM
I can see how it isn't agreed upon from a religious standpoint, but that isn't exactly relevant to me. I'm sure the cloning deal wouldn't happen because we all know that religion and morals would get in the way.. So inefficient..
08-17-2005, 03:21 PM
Perosnally i'd throw all the clones to the slaughter to help the original. I mean not to sound blood thristy but clones won't be used as people i think we'd rathjer make new people the natural way. And stem cells are great to help ppl too. Cloning is such a break-through and it's not used to it's fullests. I think stem-cells are the next generation of medical science and making new organs for people, thats insanly awesome people will live full lives not like missing a limb and helping the overall health of the world or at least the us is worth a few clones dont u think
As long as darkness flows through my veins, I will never cease, As long as my dreams still haunt me, I will never show mercy, and as long as evil lives I will never die.....

Haha, yeah I was wondering why this thread got posted in again as well.

Stem Cell research is very controversial but it can help... but it does have risks, tumours have the smallest chance of possibly forming because of them. Read it last night in a national goegraphic i think
