Shouldn't you separate ages 14-16 so you can actually tell who follows it? M is for 17+, and you have it included with ages 14.

we've been desensitized to violence and sex. i mean, pr0n everywhere. and doom 3 and half life and diablo and ... *drum roll...* GTA! i mean, look at my sig. case in point. people dont even cringe when they see a guy headshot and spurting blood everywhere.

Most gamers are between 14-16? You forget about sophisticated MMORPGS with complex storylines that appeal to college students also. In fact, most people who play REAL MMORPGS (not like Diablo, which is not MMO), are 17+. www.esrb.org

corymann1 Wrote:LOL semes the ratings written right on the corner of the disk are not seen, ignored, or people dont care lol thats funny Funny is that idiots spend millions of dollars a year rating them only for people like me to supply M+ games to people who be getting G games ^_^

Yea, even if they checked or carded people to check if they are able to buy M-rated games, there are still many ways a game can sift through the hands of the younger generation. One way is with all the talk about illegaly downloading the games off the internet, older gamers could burn/give/sell games for the younger gamers; there are plenty of other ways too but thats just a couple ways of showing that is is almost impossible to strictly enforce the ratings that have been created in an attempt to keep certain kids away from certain games. Seeing how the rating M refers to Mature (17), I know of kids that are older than 17 that are certainly shouldn't be mature enough to properly handle the games, and I know of kids that are younger than 17 that can certainly play the game in a mature enough style to not emulate the game improperly in their life. So in this way that I just described I believe that the ESRB rating system has flaws, but meh I guess everything has flaws (except for perfect gems, lol).

The are on the back of the box is more like a recommended age, also with D2 it varies depending on where you live and when you bought it.
On the back of my classic d2 link bought close to initial release it says 18+ on second disc I bought (after discovering that d2 don't float) it says 15+ I remember 2 years ago a comp magazine did a study and back then the most common d2 player was male 17 - 30, then again no such study is accurate. Make this same poll on different d2 sites and im sure you would get a different result
