ES Lightning sorc Build

I've been toying with the idea of making one of these sorcs, but I dont want to end up re-making her because of a little mistake.

This mainly brings to question the stat points that I'll be using. I've read to have 150 base vitality, I've read to put no points into anything except energy. So I want a few opinions.

My final pvp gear is as follows:

Um'd Viper Magi
2x 10fcr rings (and I have sojs, more than likely wont use)
+1 sorc skills circlet with 20fcr and shael in it (Looking for +2)
Lightning Facet Wiz Spike
Perf Diamond Lidless (Thinking of shaeling or faceting it)
Armageddon Fletch
Mages
Soul Spurs

Anni
10x Ele Gc's
A few +5 fhr sc's


I've also got a question about skills too. I've read to put 1 into ES and 16 into telekenisis, but I've read some guides where it says max 1, the other, or both. Can someone clarify100% what to do?


I guess I'm pretty much asking for a guide based on what equipment I'll be using. So if anybody could help, I'd appreciate it.

I appreciate the telekinisis explanation, but I need to know how many points to put into energy shield. I just got back into d2 so I'm kinda slow at figuring this out on my own.

I didnt mean ele gcs. I meant lightning gcs.

You should put 16 points into telek and have a total level of 36 ES for a light sorc.

if ur making ES sorc, heres good build.

Stats:
Str.: enuff 2 wear gear or u can str bug it
Dex: at least 150 or more 4 max block (good against melee attacks)
Vitality: base
Mana: rest in2 this


Gear.
Armor: perfect sahire'd viper magi... it gives fcr, resists, and mana fom the saphire
Helm: my sorc has a perf saphire'd shako 4 more mana. u can also use griffons
rings: 2 sojs, increases mana by 25 percent and adds mana, or 2x fcr rings with mana
Boots:my sorc has w brands, but most pplz rnt rich, but this is ur choice on boots
ammy: wraith collar or a 3+ light ammy. mara's will do also
gloves: my sorc has magefists on 4 fcr, regeneration of mana, and 25% more mana... second choice would b frost burns, 40% more mana.
belt: spider
Get 10 light gcs, or 9 gcs and 3+ sorc hellfire torch and anni

Skills:
max lightning
max lightning mastery
max charged bolt
max nova
max chain lightning
1 skill into thunder storm
1 skill in2 energy shield
1 skill into tele
1 skill in2 warmth

after that, idk wut 2 say, if u have ne questions, message me or jus reply or sumthing lol..

i know what to say about ur build playpazzonly... its in the thread u made as im too lazy to repeat it... umm try getting a perf spirit + perf 5/5 light die eshutas... its for more effective that a wizzy imo. use an arach for ur belt... for fcr. with arach a 20% fcr circlet mages a 20 fcr ammy eshutas perf fcr spirit and 2 rings u get 205% fcr.... now all u need is a computer fast enough for it.

as for mixing eshield into a build and being effective im at a total loss.

Hmm... I'm going to make a nice ES lightning sorc to....and as i understood the skills looked like this:

20 Lightning
20 Charged bolt
20 mastery
20 chain lightning
16-20 telekenesis
1 Energy shield
1 warmth
rest in nova


And the items, should be like this ?

Helm: Griffons or harle
Weapon: Eschutas
Armor: Viper 35 ( with P. saphire or sur?? )
shield: Spirit ( and vs melee like barb : Whitstans with sur rune )
rings: 2x sojs
amulet: Mara or 3 lightning amulet
belt: Arachnid
boots: Silkweave ?? ( or what else im lost??)
gloves: Magefist



Is all above right? If not, please tell me what isn't right! ty Smile

i am making a light sorc now, cept its not for mfing... its a nova/tstorm/es sorc... i dunno if thats a good combo or not but it seems to be working ok right now... but not as good as i have seen it work... so i was wondering if maybe you guys could give me some pointers on it... i have maxed es/telek/tstorm/nova... im using infinity/imps/frostburn/2sojs/wraith collar/vipermagi/spider/anni/torch/9light gcs... is there something i should be using that im not?... oh and i got 2.4k mana... plz help! ^_^

If you are curious about how much points you put into Telek, then perhaps you should just save your skill points until you have all your gear up and ready to go, so you have the option of dumping all twenty into it if you need to. What I suggest is you get into Hell Baal runs and use base value ES, with base telek. See if you really need the extra defense then put a couple in and continue the runs, if you find that you have good enough defense with a certian level teleK then I'd dump the remainder into a light synergy. This way you can find a comfortable zone of telek that isn't constantly draining you of mana, while being able to invest the maximum amount of skill points to up your damage with lightening. Basically what you are trying to do is balance your mana regen with ES drain, while taking into factor how easy you want to score kills. If your having no problem taking punishment at telek lvl 10, then there shouldn't be a reason to max it out.

As for equipment I heard that it is far more effective to go for items that -% of enemy's resistance then it is to add to lightening skill damage, becuase (correct me if I am wrong) The added % light damage is computed off base values of skills WITHOUT synergies or light mastery. So you have a tiny amount of damage added underneath the massive bonuses of Synergies, +skills, and light mastery. So it is far more effective to lower the resistance of enemies to your massive 40K+ light damage! Also keep in mind -% enemy resistance does not work towards breaking immunities. Thats what an infinity merc is for Smile

As for FearMe's build... Don't do it man. Stick to the pure light sorc guide posted in the sticky. I know people will argue against me, but I think tstorm is a waste of points, even if you max it with mastery it's damage will never even touch that of a standard lightening bolt when properly synergized.

And on a final note I quit adding attribute points (str,dex,vit,nrgy) during NM baal runs, that way later on you can decide what is best for your character. If you find a decent shield that you want to try max block on you can, if you find that your mana regen isn't enough then you can add more points (higher mana pools yeild better regens obviously) Like most people you can pump up your vita. Strength however really shouldn't go above 100, I know some people get it to about 160 (I forget exact number) for stormshield, but really I think there are better choices.

hey i was jsut wondering on the armor that you use for a gg light sorc...you really want vipermagi....but i was wondering is a perfect 15 % light ormus with 3 to chain light aand has a perf 5-5 die facet light in it better than vipermagi...plus i was wondering what that would be worth if good...

You decide what's best for you. The chances of getting a chain light ormus are pretty slim, I'd go with light mast if I could.

If i put 1 skill into ES with +skills with my gear it goes to 10 so how muhc should i put into my energy stat for it to work well? Like 100? or what?
