ISO: Smiter Vs Ubers Build

Me n friends makin new chars to own ubers....but question on smiter gear. He's gonna be a mix for pvp and uber hunter. Gear should be much differnt since whatever pwns ubers shit still hit hard pvp. I'm currently nonladder but i'm getting phoenix/fortidude/grief when ladder resets(buddy quit).Heard many different things wanna know wut u all think.
Stuff im deffinite on
Belt:dungos
Boots: gores
Rings BKs

Helm:
COA (no explain)
Guilemms(for damage mods, spelled wrong i know)

Armor:
Levi (pure deff)
Coh (resists)
Nigma (guess or telesmash)
Fortitude (duh)

Weap:
doom (slowdown)
grief (damage mods)
lacerator

shields:
exile (defiance and lifetap)
zak shield (consistent damage, res +skills)
phoenix(damage mod)

ammy:
highlords (damage mods, ias)
maras (+skills res att)

Gloves:
magnus skin (paired with guilemms)
rends
bloodfists
dracs grasp

I've already read Cauhtemoc's guide but still cant decide what would be best and heard from some people that exile is still viable for ubers even though Cauhtemoc says its crap. Just wanna know some opinions or gear setups from ne smiters who found the ubers "easy."

Also what merc gear (can include ladder gear) or think merc would die way to easy?(Im thinkin either act2 defiance or act2 freeze)

in the time it takes you to tap your monitor screen with your finger... your merc would be dead...
heres my definition on a decent smiter vs uber build

helm: ber ber perf dr coa
ammy: perf maras
armor: perfect archon fort
weapon: perfect grief zerker
shield: exile zak with all resists mod, the only reason i use exile instead of umed zak is its life tap
gloves: 20% ias crafted gloves, (to reach the speed bp)
rings: ravenfrost+dwarf
belt: perf dr verdungoes
boots: gore riders

switch: cta+spirit

inventory:

9x pcombats with enough fhr mods on them to reach the fhr bp (take in mind coa and i think verd gives fhr too)
1x pally torch, optional of course if u plan on picking up torches by yourself, or if u trust your friend and have him pick them up.
1x fhr +all resist sc

and use fhr+all resist scs for the rest until u get maxed resistances and 90 of either light, cold or fire.

skills to max in this order
smite
fantacism
holy shield
defiance
and a wildcard 20 pts left (depending on how high u can lvl)for a resist skill to add +10 to max resist permanently to your setup (resist cold light or fire)... i would put pts into resist fire or lightning.

have fun with your smiter...


btw do not try to fight ubers until your atleast lvl 85.

k i just made in char editor on open with typical nonladder gear since no ladder items premade(and im to lazy to look up and put the mods in myself) and no weap since i didn't know which to use but with zak shield im only getting around 2.3k damage and exile is 2.8k. hopefully the ladder items will boost me cause i've heard of 7k+ smiters. maybe ill hand modify to get the ladder runewords n try again.

even with grief your dmg wont show up as over 10k, like in the build i described above.... basically to calculate smite dmg u add up everything that adds + dmg or shield dmg... i.e exile zakarum=46-46 so 46+ holy shield+ grief+ maybe wartravs+ and if that is 1000 or so then u add up the % dmg.... 485% from fant+300% from fortitude+maybe 300% from smite and u then multiply it by the %, so, 1000x1085%= 1000x 10.85 =10,850-10,850.... as a rough estimate.... dont forget, smite dmg is increased a little bit by strength too. without charms thats what a typical smiter would do... with charms and that nifty torch i bet smite dmg is around 14.5k-14.5k

you can also reach the last break point with bloodfists and a 15ias jewel in ur hoz if you plan to use one

Up'd Gores

Dungos somewhere around 14 dr-34 vit

29 maras

Rings:
20 dex raven 200+ar

the reaper as long as your attribute points are set nicely you shouldn't have too much problem, what Silver's saying there is try to make it as perfect as you can, not everybody's uber rich to afford all that, as I am to estimate that's around 45-50 HRs if I was to include the charms. That's a pretty expensive build if u ask me but its well worth it, Smiters are fun to play with and they're great.

You can easily turn it into a dueler by equipting an Enigma instead of Fort and going Angelic Rings + Ammy.

Eth Vortex Shield Exile for more smite damage (maximum not minimum), and defense.

Should I go with blood fists or rends, I have a pair of 60s, and I have like 5x5scs and 1 5/5fhr and 4-5 pcombats, is that good?

One suggestion for Silver's guide:

Eth Vortex Shield Exile for more smite damage (maximum not minimum), and defense.

vortex shield has an immense range on it, like 5-82..... a zak shield has 46-46... vortex=bad for dueling if u hit 2k dmg once and 14k dmg next... some smiters just kill in 1 hit and u would be dead.

and yes the stats are fine...

enough dex for max block
rest vit
none energy.

and yes ur gear is fine reaper... btw last time i check coa perf dr 2 os is only 15 hrs, not 20.

1. dmg reduct+resists (add ber ber too)
2. immense dmg added
3. +45 to all resists max, +5 to max cold and fire resists, lots more defense and consistent smite dmg... btw phoenix also casts firestorm approx every 3rd hit and u therefore cannot smite for a few seconds until it finishes

if u cannot afford exile, using an umed upped zak and draculs works nicely too.

as for gloves, laying of hands are a nice choice too, seeing as i didnt realize they give 20% ias+ 350% dmg to demons... infact... that would be 10k-10k smite dmg x3.5=35k-35k smite dmg per hit to an uber boss... wow.

1 pt though... u must have lifetap from either exile or dracs... otherwise u will die unless u have a lot of rejuvs and a pally with salvation.

If you arn't going for max fhr frames or too much CB, I would recommend laying of hands as gloves. They let you reach your IAS frame and the +350% damage to demons is always welcome.

hey thanks for this build i read this because my friend is currently in the process of making a smiter for uber trist and he has guillihams(dunno if spelt right) but not coa he is debating on useing a umed shako instead and dracs instead of laying of hands but he has an eth exile vortex sheild i'm pretty sure... could u tell me what is the absolute best for uber trist and can he solo it? ALSO if u dont mind i am making a zealer, i have all the stats n skills points down pat, but the gear i'm not so sure of... right now i will be useing eBotdz,Enigma,Umed Hoz,Umed Shako,Treks or Gores,Dracs,4%bk,Raven Frost, arachs, and a 22 maras.


if anyone could please tell me what would be best for uber tristings it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks In Advanced

well if u see a lot of 15% dr coas with the same defense, resists and other stats, u can assume their duped... however, if u see a 2 os 15% dr coa with a defense of 1 higher or lower then all the suspected duped ones, u can assume that coa isnt duped.

to alfzz: i dont know about you, but when i tried using static on dc... it wasnt very effective at all, i suspect that the same applies to any other uber boss.

yes cb will affect ubers.... cb is one of the entire pts of being a smiter...., infact, if I didnt suspect a smiter vs dc build would be highly useless i would use one, instead, the typical crushing blow smiter build was adjusted to match the need for lifetap, cannot be frozen, max resists and very fast ias.

in short, cb does affect ubers, as it affects everything in the game.

Hmm..would I still be ok with an eth hoz instead of the exile? I don't like exile very much, partly because its really expensive. Can I live w/out lifetap? I just cant solo it right?
