Best weapon for a smiter vs uber trist

i have an eexile Zakarum with +40 resists and i seem to prefer that over my up'd hoz.. just have cta and spirit on switch, then bo, then cast holy shield before switching back.. and its the same as holy shield with a hoz.

Also, something cheap, a Black rune word, would that be a decent weapon? Is this the flail you're speaking of? It has big crushing blow. I want to be able to do Uber Trist, but everything else as well. So a top to bottom best weapons would be nice to see for people who are rich to the people on a budget. Anyone feel up to the task of listing these weapons?

well if you guys can't decide which to get. go with exile as it has mega defence and life tap mod also hoz is cheaper to get so stick with that until u can get a exile..

I did, although I teamed up with a necromancer for lifetap, and another paladin for Salvation (I needed resitance).

False. Period.
This isnt PvP smiter building, this is Smiter vs Uber trist. Zerker has 3 range out of possible 3 on 1hands. pb has 2 out of 3. this may seem like much but unlike in pvp, u wont do a "1 hit kill" on primevils, so this doesnt matter much.

Time for another my rants I think. Let's take a look at the differences between a Berserker Axe, and Phase Blade. As already stated, a Berserker Axe have a longer range, although this is less vital in PVM that it is in PVP, it still makes a difference, and it is nice to have.

What other differences are there? Let's look at the requirements, Phase Blade requires 25 strength, the Berserker Axe requires 138 strength. Sure, 138 strength might seem a bit high, but it DOES NOT MATTER. Why? Because a Zakarum Shield (the best Smite shield, without doubt) has a requirement of 142 strength, which is higher.

But what's this? The Phase Blade requires 136 dexterity too? Assuming you are level 90, and use an upgraded Herald of Zakarum (which you do, because there is no excuse not to), and have Holy Shield at level 20 (same thing there, there is no excuse not to have this), only 58 dexterity are needed to reach 75% blocking, this is just below the Berserker Axe requirement of 59 dexterity. So that's 77 points wasted into dexterity, which instead could have gone into vitality.

Next and final difference, the speed. The Phase Blade is arguably much faster than the Berserker Axe, and while the Phase Blade is capable of reaching the last breakpoint almost without any source of increased attack speed what so ever, the Berserker Axe needs only 10% more increased attack speed once you add the increased attack speed from Grief and Fanaticism.

This isn't too hard to get, a 40/15 jewel in the helmet (most likely a Crown of Ages or Guillaume's Face) works fine, and gives you the possibility of using Dracul's Grasp for Life Tap.

Other than that, Bloodfists are very nice (10% increased attack speed, 30% faster hit recovery, 40 to life), some crafted Blood Gloves with 20% increased attack speed and 20% crushing blow are awesome to say the least, and if you really want to do some damage, some Laying of Hands are good to (20% increased attack speed, 350% damage to demons). As for Life Tap, either team up with a necromancer, or get a wand with Life Tap charges.

Still think a Phase Blade is better?

Draculs gives a 5% chance to cast a lvl 10 Life Tap.
Exile gives a 15% chance to cast a lvl 5 Life Tap.
The level doesn't matter too much, but note that level 10 life tap has almost twice the radius of lvl 5, and it lasts over 13 seconds longer. It doesn't really make much of a difference, but the difference between Draculs and Exile is almost nothing. But wait! Draculs give 10-15 str, and even a 25% open wounds chance. If they had IAS, they would be hands down the best gloves possible for a smiter (even without CB). So, Draculs are simply much better than their counterparts, but what about Exile and HoZ?

Dont forget...exile 3 times faster to get the life tap out...3 times=life and death.

Somewhere in the pages of these guides its been proven that Phoneix is a junk shield for a smiter due to the fact that the fire skills take time to cast which in turn keeps you from smashing out some smites.

When Im like doing Baal Runs I notice that Im constantly smiting ppl and constantly casting Life Tap with only my Draculs. It seems like its more then 5% to cast it, happens way to often to be 5%. Any ideas on this?

I, too, have noticed this. It seems to apply to all spells that are chance to cast however, not only Life Tap (try running around with a Breath of the Dying in normal difficulty, Poison Nova will trigger on pretty much every kill).

I have no idea why it does this however, but I'm guessing this has something to do with the relative level between you and the monster you're hitting. But this isn't reported anywhere, so don't take my word for it.

Maybe it's time for me to do some testing.

somthing that i've noticed but nobody has seemed to mention is what a good smite weapon the redeemer could be for noobs. all these ppl who cant afford grief, astreons, etc. who r asking for a good cheap smite weapon, this is it. check it out:

+2 pally skills! -33% target def! if ur really poor and want a smite weap that does good dmg just get a redeemer with 110+ dmg, throw in a shael, and there you go..

It's very slow however, speed 0 with no increased attack speed is hard to get up to a 6 frame Smite speed. But sure, if you can find a total of 53% increased attack speed somewhere, go for it.

hoz is usless in uber trist. any fkin greif will do (i prefer pb, : ) a fkin coh armor, ber ber coa, verdungos, draculs, gores, raven spiral/ frost, cats eye. if u have that u should have no problem vs uber trist. ive officially solved all ur questions. now stfu and stop askin for smiter info

but we were talking about if u could not afford at the momment of what you could use.... then what you could be the perfect item for a weapon when u can....DUH
