I need help with my smiter.. (Item Question)

I checked the Smiter guide, and had some great info, but I a have no idea what armor I could use (that I could afford without using up all my items)

Since I play non-ladder (us east) I can't use the great ladder-only runewords.
I was thinking about using an eth valor for fhr, vit and defense, but I don't think I can afford that (well I can afford it I just don't want to use up too many hrs, haha)

Here are the only runes I have to trade right now: Jah, Ohm, Vex and Zod. (I should be able to get something with that)

Also, how much is a 1 socketed COA worth?

if you want good cheap gear use shako/shaft(chammed if can)/verdungos(40vit/1xdr)
this will get you lots of life and reach the damage reduction cut-off.i use similar on zealer and he turned out pretty good.
