Regardless if Blizzard banned keys today, people should have stopped using it when the big "Opens port..." message was posted.

There is like a million programs that use port 1010, and its very easy to block that port using any software or hardware firewalls.

It was posted on the Bnet forums that there was some peculiar stuff happening with ports. It was one guy who said it, but this is Netter we're talking about.

I deleted all the links to EasyMap I could find and posted it in the news that it was unsafe. Everyone who got owned (banned) by Blizzard deserved it, including myself.

But that's the chance you take, right?

Assuming Tool knows his stuff, I doubt he'd mistake a different app for the culprit.
Either way, if you see a thread like that on the main page, why would you download it?

Also, saying "I told you so is one thing," however, I don't feel anyone was "stupid" for downloading this. Foolish, yes.

The admins can certainly do as they please on their website, so if they don't want to test a file before posting it, that's up to them (maybe they can't, don't assume they know everything). Maybe before downloading ask if any respected memeber, admin or not, has done in depth tests BEFORE posting the file. If not, wait for a while.

Learn from your mistakes and move on.
Blizzard hasn't done this in the past, but at the very least this generates more income form the people who do repurchase. So even though I never say it...

They'll ban everyone for everything eventually. Why they came back with avengance on 1.11 is beyond me. They'll get the botters, the maphackers, the pickits and so on until all thats left is a few hundred legit hardcore players that know the game and the random maps inside and out. Then they can close down the diablo servers and dedicate them to WoW. Thats what it seems to me. Its like they want D2 to go away. Someone said that a maphack isnt hurting anyone. And, really thats right. What difference does it make if we can see the whole map. I could see if it was the same map every time, and we only had to find it once, then the deal is up to us to find the rest of what we need to see. Regardless, Blizzard seems intent on getting rid of us. I hope the accounts they suspended makes their gear companies some more money. Nothing like recycling.

yep if your cd key is banned then the account you were playing on is banned. oh and BTW.. i have a couple mule accounts and if anyone wants them they are all yours. they have some stuff on them. not much but its something to work with if you want to start over.

Sorry that your superior intellect has eclipsed all of us. Some of the people posting and reading don't realize the association of programs with port 1010. But since you're such a super smart guy, next time, make sure to inform the rest of us that you are a fountain of knowledge and such comments should be directed to you. This will save extra posts about who is actually the genius here.

Edit: Note the sarcasm here Tap. I know that it may have eluded you. I was merely stating the obvious for the many that didn't know it. Save your ignorant comments for people like SmokEm.
