Is anyone here experienced in making mods for D2? I was just curious because I wanted to start making one, if anyone wants to help or something, it would be nice/fun. I have ZERO knowledge on mod-making though. Anyone interested? It would be cool to make a nice mod and get it up on a realm for people to play, but the chances of that are pretty high...

I am not experienced in making mods at all, but heres a link to the Phrozen Keep, which is the #1 site for D2 mod makers: http://www.planetdiablo.com/phrozenkeep/. The link thatNub gave ya, the Volf one, is also good;he is an awesome mod maker, creator of those CCM (Cheaters Choice Mod) series. Basically you do not technically need any extra programs (unless you are making more of a total conversion mod which modifies many aspects of the game including graphics and such) because all you really need to do is open up the various mpq files and change the stuff around *ALWAYS MAKE SURE TO HAVE A CLEAN BACKUP COPY OF ALL OF THE MPQ'S AND EVERYTHING* To open them, you can basically use Excel and just edit them right in there. You also need to learn about all of the different things in each of the mpq's so that you know what you are editing.

If Spikes happens to see this, I beleive he would qualify as the most experienced of all of us at D2S; he has worked with Volf i believe on a project (at one point in fact i thought he was Volf), so he may be a good start.
