I was pondering what gear I would set up between my sorceress & mercenary for the best combination. For my Lightning sorc, I would have my merc wear Infinity runeword without a doubt. But then I got to thinking - I know the conviction Aura will enhance my sorc's lightning damage, but will the other stats -45% to 55% to Enemy Lightning resist apply to my Sorc's lightning attacks as well? Or does that apply purely to the one wearing the item. This is a big question I really need answered before I decide what to make.
For example, for my Blizz sorc, I figured I would try Doom for her merc, since it has -40% to 60% to Enemy Cold resist. However, if this stat only applies to the merc, then I would without a doubt stick to Infinity.
