The College/Work force Thread
#1
Hey all; tomorrow (Thursday, August 25th) I leave for college, so I just decided to make this thread so any of you that are going to college can discuss like where their going and what kind of stuff they are majoring in (or intended majors for those if they are in their freshmen year and don't officially declare their majors yet). I also decided to include that you can say if you decided to join the work force after your secondary education instead so that I am not descriminatory or anything like that; in that case you can say so and mention like where/what job you decided to work for.
-----------------------------------------------------

College: Elizabethtown College
Location: *surprise* Elizabethtown,PA (Lancaster County)
Major (intended): English with a concentration in Professional Writing

Yeh, I guess i'm pretty excited with some expected nervousness/anxiousness about college. The ratio I think was like a 3-2 girl/guy population on campus. My roommate is a sophomore, so he doesn't come until about Sunday or so. It's pretty cool to have someone that has gone through a year, so he may be able to help me with some questions or whatever i may have. Peace out y'all.

well i'm doing both actually. I work for stone container, we make corrigated boxes. Its basically factory work. I'm only really working there to pay for college, not to mention it doesn't pay to shabby either (15 an hour).

I'm also going to college part time. I'm going to penn tech, its our local community college. My major is business management with a minor in accounting. I'm actually in my sophmore year although i'm only taking 2 classes this semester. After this year I will quit my job and transfer to penn state main campus.

Good luck with college jedi and everyone else going.

As far as work goes...

Ben Wrote:i want to have a job where i interact with computers every day. that's all i know.

Ben you would love my job.. I work as a PC Tech for a company called Daksoft (indirectly owned by Black Hills Corp) if there are any real computer nerds here you might have heard of us b/c we wrote the AS400 sub-operating system... thats like the pride around here.. and yes... for every1 wondering... we have computers in South Dakota... lol..
After College I wanna fly for an Airline for a couple years.. and considering that 92% of all Airline pilots come out of Embry... i just might get to.. after that i wanna fly for a coperation as a private commercial pilot.. and then i wanna own my own dance club(s). i have been working on the plans for one for about 2 yrs... so hopefully.. one day...

thats about it for me.. i like my planes... and my computers...
