D2 lock-up problem

First i'd like to appologize if this topic has been covered.

I was wondering if anyone else has been having their game freeze upon creating or entering a game. It first happened to me about two days ago, i entered Act 1 and shortly after my game froze. i wasn't able to minimze D2 or close the program via alt f4 or ctrl alt delete and had to hard-reboot. since then it seems every other game or so that i enter/create my game freezes after almost exactly five seconds each time. If anyone els has been having similar problems or has any idea about what might be causing them i'd like to hear. So far after about 8 hours in the bliz tech support channel ive recieved basicly no help (not that i honestly expected to much to begin with:confused though several other people entered the channel while i was there with similar situations, many of them told me their problem also began at about the same time mine did, which i think was around 3 or 4 pm Est on monday.

Happens to me sometimes when I change characters. But I could always Alt + F4, exit out of the error, and get another one that says "We Got A Big Problem Here " (or something like that)

I can minimize mine i use ctrl al del then go back into and sameall over again

at the moment my d2 will run fine in windowed mode, which is increadibly annoying to try and play in. and i spent about 8 hours waiting in the blizzard tech channel and all they told me was to reinstal diablo. i did this 4 times with no affect....i'm stumped...

WOW so many ppl are having the same problem i am, first get AVG free software scaner, also get ad-aware free ver. and if u have norton. Now run all First if u have Norton, than aftewrwords run AVG, finally fun AD-Aware, if AD does not work no wories(oit may shut down because it searches through secten system files that might have admin made locks, ne ways after all have ran. deleat ne thing ad everything it finds. finaly uninstall and reinstall diablo, also if u have D2 loader get rid of it, bliz is cracking down on it. finally never run another program while doing ne of these tasks i was havoing the same problem and just fixed it, so its cool. to ne one thins helps your welcom to ne one it does not help im sry pm me andcall me a noob...

Wait. They're cracking down on loader? How is that bad? All it does is load D2. The No CD thing is kinda out the window because most people who use it actually BOUGHT their CD Key. I mean, how are they going to enforce that to those people?
