bad character version!

this comes out everytime i copy my character to another pc on diablo 2:LOD with the exact same patch. 1.11 that is. and this Bad Character Version comes out when my friend plays it on the other pc. when i copy my barbarian, it works just fine. but my palladin is the one thats making all these problems. is it because my friend is using the same exact character as me?
