mm.bot undetectable - how?
#1
r u guys sure its undetectable? why is it that it isnt detectable when other bots r? cant blizz just update their warden thing and scan it??

MMbot is undetectable because it works differently from other programs. Other bots work (correct me if I'm wrong guys with higher post counts) by attaching themselves to the d2 client and directly sending packets/intercepting packets. Whereas MMbot basically just looks at your screen (VERY close to literally) and emulates the pushing of the buttons in the d2 window. Apologies if I misunderstood someone somewhere and my explanation is wrong... but this is how I uinderstand it. (P.S. they can't just update warden for that cause to do so they'd have tyo scan your full memory instead of just for attatched Dll's and that would prolly break privacy laws or something)

That is the meat of it. If ever the day comes that a company can scan your memory for running programms leagally I'm betting is MS, but for now we are safe. The other important point is that if MM Bot messes up and logs on and off rapidly or does something else repatative they you can get a temporary ban.

what mm.bot is made from autoit... it simulates your keyboard and mouse and makes key presses and mouse click just as if a real person were too.... so there is no way of actually finding it... maybe if blizz somehow tracks your movements and find u do the same exact thing over and over again to the very last coordinate then u could be caught but ehh...

there is only 2 ways i can see them detecting it ,first doing a full memory scan. And possibly scanning for the modified files. But they cant do that since there is nothing illegal about mods.

its still not 100% sure thing that u can't get banned so use at your own risk

There is one way it could be detected, and that's simple analyzation of your runs. If you always run the exact same path, always cast passive skills at the same time, etc, etc. Just simple pattern detection server side could very well flag beyond any reasonable doubt that it is a computer controlled character. Same way the follower module is easily detected (and I don't mean memory space).

I'm not sure if mm.bot uses randomization for such things as I've not tried it. If there isn't any, there most definately should be some added.

Things I would like to see in a bot adding to anti-detection would be occasionally taking the wrong waypt and mis-click. Simple mistakes that humans make. Noone can click on things as accurately as a computer can [pay attention next time you're doing a manual run, you click things several times and sometimes miss.. atleast I do], even with the visual method mm.bot uses it is still consistent. Again this is based on the assumption that it doesn't do this already.

I imagine the monsters mm.bot is suppose to kill have modified images and therefore easily detected by pixel scanning.. how often do people click on the actual monster to orb it? From my experience, you're more likely to click in the general direction while still having the cursor relatively close to the character.

Much like the way maphack can be detected by using the screen-scroll feature and click-locking monsters 2 screens away. I wouldn't put it past blizzard to do this kind of analyzing.

Patterns are what bots do best. :wacky:

Higher post count does not mean you know more about something, a little reading goes a long way.

But that's correct, and I say that not because I have a higher post count, but because I know what I'm talking about. Smile

the only problem i see with it is that every run your clicking the exact same spot and there's no way to randomize it which seems like it could be easily detected
