Ping doesn't ALWAYS indicate lag for me. How strange that sounds, but it doesn't at times. Could be SOMETHING with comp who knows.

if that trade were succesfull u would've been ripped cuz hellfire is worth like 6+ runes.
but even worse u got scammed. the LOCATION where u were trading might have affected u, when u make a thread like this, put in as much detail as u can to see what exactly happened

it coulda been the game its self, few times ive been in a game, and i couldnt pick anything up/ go to stash, then it went away.

Being able to pick it up as soon as he left would correspond to a lag spike. He had likely left earlier, you just didn't get notification due to the lag. When everything 'caught up' it would appear like you described.
