Ok, I Dont Understand Fully On How To Calculate You TRUE Smight Damage. Cauhtemoc's Simple Equations Arent Simple Enough For My Head, So I Need Some Help, I Have Also Posted Below, My Skills /w Stats to em, and Items /w Stats. Thx
Quote Taken Directly From Cauhtemoc's Guide
Quote:Q: So how am I supposed to know how much damage I do?
A: Through some rather easy equations.
Q: Ah, I see. I add the minimum and maximum damage of all my items together (including Holy Shield), divide this value by two, to get my average damage. Then I just multiply my average damage with my combined non-weapon enhanced damage!
A: Correct, and with good equipment, an average damage of 12'000 per Smite is reachable.
Q: But I'm dumb as a brick, I don't know how to do this. Can't you do it for me?
A: I've given you enough help already.
( Im Sorry, But Ur Equations Get Me Lost Cauhtemoc )
Skills:
LvL 27 Fanatacism:
Code: -Your Damage ( My Damage ): +492%
-Attack : +170%
LvL 25 Smite:
LvL 25 Holy Shield:
Code: -Smite Damage: +77-80
Items:
Greif Phase Blade:
Code: -One-Hand Damage: 31-35
-Damage: +341
Eth Exile:
Code: -Smite Damage WITHOUT Holy Shield: 24-32
-Smite Damage WITH Holy Shield: 101-112
Well Hopefully Some Body Can Help Me Out With This, Oh BTW, If Someone Decides To Do It For Me, That Would Be Cool, Please Leave Idiot Friendly Instructions On How Exactly You Did It. So Many People Ask Me My Smite Dmg, And I Dont Know What It Is.

1. min + max sheld dmg (with hs) + grief
2. divide by 2
3. multiply by smite+fanactism
thats how i read it

It's easy, next time someone asks how much smite damage, just walk over, smite them and say "that much"
But one thing I noticed, don't add the 31-35 damage from your grief, just the 341.

(101 + 77 + 341) + (112 + 80 + 341) = 442 + 453 = 1052
1052 / 2 = 526
526 + 526(4.92 + 3.75) = 526 + 526(8.67)
526 + 4560.42 = 5086.42 average dmg per smite
im pretty sure that's rite. ur grief has low dmg and ur shield has really low dmg. it also seems that ur skill lvls r really low.

This is what you do.
First we add together the minimum damage on the stuff that adds direct damage, which is the shield, Holy Shield, and Grief.
Code: Exile Royal Shield: 24
Holy Shield: 77
Grief Phase Blade: 341
This gives a total of 442 damage. Next, we add together the maximum damage.
Code: Exile Royal Shield: 32
Holy Shield: 80
Grief Phase Blade: 341
This gives a total of 453 damage. Now we multiply the values with whatever sources of enhanced damage you might have.
First we need to convert the percentages into multipliable numbers (i.e. divide by 100), and because the skills give X% more damage, and not X% damage, we will also add 1 to this value. So 492% gives a factor of 5.92, and 375% gives a factor of 4.75. So this gives us the following.
Code: 5.92 + 4.75 = 10.67
442 * 10.67 = 4'716
453 * 10.67 = 4'833
So you do 4'716 to 4'833 damage. Now we add these values together, and divide the number by two, to get your average damage. This gives you an average of 4774 damage.

thank you cauhtemoc, you sir are the man. oh and what do you think, should i use the eexile royal shield with +43 resists, or the Um'd Non-Up'd HoZ, or Eth Zod'd HoZ

The Um'd Herald of Zakarum gives more resist, and does more damage. There is no reason to use an Exile.

He was using a Phase Blade, so he could just get some Dracul's Grasp if he wanted Life Tap. The defence difference is negligible, it will lower his chance to be hit with a few percent at a max. Herald of Zakarum is better, upgraded or not.

non-up'd hoz has horrible dmg. ber'd up'd hoz is good with dracs. but i still think the best combo is perf up'd bloodfists + eth exile zakarum (that's wut i use )

That difference in damage is negligible, because once you have a Grief nothing else makes much of a difference (that is, direct damage bonuses, enhanced damage bonuses, such as Fortitude or Phoenix are now much more important).
An upgraded does more damage, but that wasn't the question here, he wanted to know if it was better than an ethereal Royal Shield, which it is. It does more damage, and gives more resistance.

Cauhtemoc, I think you left something out of your calculations. Strength. You can't figure out his final smite damage without knowing what his strength is. I can make an assumption though. Let's say it's 150 (reasonable?).
492% fanat + 375% smite + 150 str = 1017% = 11.17x dmg
78.5 HS + 28 shield + 341 grief = 447.5 base dmg
11.17 x 447.5 = 4998.575 avg smite dmg

Well i was wondering...what items will give life tap? Other then Exile (I Use an Upped "um" zak) and dracs gloves (I use bloodfist). Not to mention it seems dracs don't cast often enough to even help. If i am wrong let me know.
