Comp specs for d2

Maybe he meant it was an AMD 4000+

my room is usually at 78-82 winter and possibly hotter in the full summer (cuz my grandpa doesn't like it cold and it sucks ***) and i run hl2 with all my other programs running as well. of course can't say i've ever had the need to play hl2 AND d2 at the same time. but still. thats HL2, AIM, my music sharing program (always downloading new shit), my firewall set on paranoid mode (i go beyond high level security Big Grin), anti-virus running, and my media player with enough music to last me thru hl2 at least 20 times. altho i am running windows 2k which doesn't kill my system nearly as bad as xp.

Those still only run at like 2.8Ghz, if that.

Just to answer the 4ghz question thats why amd calls calls it 4000+ u can check the true speed in my computer properties, also intel sucks really because they say it 3ghz but its not and what makes amd so good is the fact the intel does 5clock cycles where amd does 8clock cycles per millisecond(not to sure on time measurement)

When will people learn you cannont directly compard AMD and Intel? They are two completely different chips with two completely different architectures. It's like comparing apples and oranges; it dosn't work. Intels are great for video editing, AMD's great for gaming (the reason I prefer the later). But to say "Intel sucks" is both ignorant and wrong. Also, the clock cycle ratio between AMD and Intel is 6:9, not 5:8.

One more thing, the clock speed of a AMD 4000+ is only 2.4GHZ. It may be equivalent to a 4GHZ P4, (although it would lose out in video encoding to one), but the actual CPU clock speed is stil only 2.4GHZ.

I was looking for the word equivalent last night but it just wouldnt come to me...right on the tip of my tounge and...grr just couldnt grasp it. Slashed a whole like 4 paragraph response because of that too.

I've seen far far higher than that. But if you read his post more carefully, he said

Pretty sure I have seen a 6ghz or 7ghz one. 4.4ghz is pretty low.
