Someone please help me

Ive been playing diablo for some time now and ive NEVER gotten an enigma or hoto or any of that good stuff. The best things i ever get are shakos and ive gotten tals and ik set ONCE. Basically i just wanted to know how most people get such good stuff. And if possible can you make a small guide on how to start from scratch and make your way to a hammerdian w/ all the gear? Plz/TY

Um...U cant find hotos or enigmas on the ground, you have to make them using runes. If u want to get rich, make a mfer * dosent even need to realy have to much mf at first" and find uniques and trade for runes and such to make you gear. Also, You should go to Arreat Summit, they have alot of info on how the game works.

Yea u need to mf alot and trade ur uniques for runes like if u find shako trade for um,mal or whatever find levi trade for pul, um, until u build up runes so u can trade for the runes that u need or trade or trade for the runeword itself.... it takes time especially if u don't bot , but can get there

hotos and enigmas u cant find then there are simply ruen words with you have to make by havin a soceted item and puting the right runes in the right order ion them a good way to get runes is doing you hellforge and try reparing the hammer i hear it gives you a higher chace of getter a better rune

When I first started d2 with a hammerdin, I basically used cheap runewords and ones that people don't use much but are actually very useful.

Tal+eth
Stealth: 25% FCR
25%Fr/w
6 to dex
and some other stuff that I can't remember
Also
Shael+eth
Rhyme: 25 to all res ( I put mine in a pally shield so it had 50 to all res)
25% faster mana regeneration
25% MF
Cannot be frozen.

The good thing about these runewords is that they are quite cheap, and you can find most of the runes just doing quests or whatever.

i am aware that hoto and enigma dont drop, like i said ive been playing for a while its just i can never get enough stuff to get them and it frustrates me

the best way to start up, in my opinion is to make a Lightning/chain lightning sorc, and do key runs. People pay WAY to much for keys, and when you get tons of keys, get HRs, and get godly Items for the next char your going to make,

I know how you feel, I never seem to have the really good items. When I started playing on East S2, a buddy dropped basically a good hammerdin gear and mf sorc gear so I was lucky there. I just started a few weeks ago on West ladder and I'm feeling really poor again. My first char was a mf light sorc and I have found a few things, even traded for a tomb reaver for my merc, but its going slow. I do bot with a 3 key rotation, but blizzard has really tried to slow down people from botting so it goes slow.

I also have trouble knowing what is worth what, so I'm often looking at the trade value guides on this server or asking someone before trading, but that seems to be the way people get ahead... 10 shakos is useless to one person, so like someone else said get some good runes. Also, if you have a hammerdin start rushing for forge and have the person repair the hammer.

the best way to start is to is like dkim said but also take items sell them for gold then when you have like 500k go gamble with it. my and my buddie have been gambling for every we have been finding like 2/20/20/20 pally circlets and selling them for massive items gambling pays off he traded a 2/20/20/20 for 2x bug coh in 1.10 patch scored... and keys runs are good now its just that if you get atleast 1 set aday that 1 soj a day or maybe more.
