i've never had this problem with overclocking, but i believe all motherboards have some jumpers you can put in a certain position to default the bios, i've never done it myself, but i know my motherboard has a button on the back that i can push to reset it. Just look up something like "Resetting the bios" on google.

After a few moments of searching, i've found this, it might be of help to you

Quote:Most motherboards manufactured over the last decade or more use a battery to sustain the dynamic Bios/CMOS settings for the motherboards PROM chip. These dynamic settings are those manually set by either the computers manufacturer or you, the user. There are two ways to erase these dynamic settings, by either resetting a jumper on the motherboard itself (referred to as a "clear CMOS" jumper), or by physically remove the power from the computer (disconnecting the power plug) and then removing a battery (used to maintain power to the PROM chip that contains the Bios/CMOS information) from the motherboard.

That and more can be found here

10-4 on that. yeah its really weird i've never had a problem overclocking it before, i already had it runnin 300mhz faster than it came but i figured another 100 wouldn't hurt it since it never overheats and my HL2 still runs a little buggy under full graphics acceleration. but when i went to save bios and restart it the computer was on but it wasn't displaying anything on the monitor and the keyboard/optimouse lights didn't come on. i'm not a total computer noob but this is very strange to me.

oh and if it works i'll post it up tonight and let you guys know how to do it in case your bios ever gets scrambled that way you don't have to suffer like i did last night lol.

I heard that there is a way of reinstalling Your BIOS without actually seeing anything on the screen, by following sounds. If You didn't enable Your PC Speaker before You screwed Your computer then I'd say that Your odds are pretty slim. This usually happens when BIOS malfunctions, in cases such as faults in BIOS installation etc... This would definately help:

Check the 2nd page. I think that it's Your situation. I had something similar a while ago...

Yea or your motherboard books should have a diagram of the jumper setting and how to reset it

unfortunately i bought my motherboard from my old room mate who works for a computer store, so thats all i got. no books or anything. i went home for lunch and reset the jumpers but the way my computer is set up i have to wait about 15 minutes after plugging the power back in to start it so i didn't get to start it before i left. hopefully i moved the right jumper, with my luck tho i probly moved the "oh man this is gonna **** ur shit up" jumper LOL

my computer is like my truck, when i find something new that i can do to it, i do it. sometimes it works right and sometimes your camper blows off while driving down the road. ya take a chance i guess.

-=UPDATE=-
Ok i did the manual reset last night i moved the number 1 jumper next to the CMOS battery from positions one and two to positions 2 and 3, plugged the power back in, unplugged, moved the jumper back to 1 and 2, and cranked her up. all works and i am now back up and running.
