interesting. cuz even though i'm 22 and in school. i get accused of being an alcoholic alot (my parents especially. cuz my step mom's dad is a true alcoholic) even though i'm pretty much acting my age. and i drink to get drunk. my dad on the other hand drinks on occasions. his philosophy, seems to be if you don't drink during social events your an alcoholic... obviously this is wrong. he uses it as an excuse to get drunk. like ALL social drinkers do. now there's a difference between social drinkers and TRUE social drinkers.
anyway i'm sick and tired of being labeled as an alcoholic. just because i'm surrounded by social drinkers... who also happen to be around twice my age... 35-49.
is it not a students job to get drunk? isn't that why university's (yeah it's spelled wrong) are famous? for parties?
my point is. since were on the subject of drinking, not on the subject of recent posts. which pondered the world of a hangover... which i personally think is simply a lack of H2O (water) to the brain... part of alcohol cuts your brain off from oxygen.. that's why you get the euphoric feeling while drinking. cuz it cuts off oxygen to the brain. also it dehydrates the flow of water to the brain... that's why water helps.
anyway. i'm sure many of you have been called an alcoholic before. (maybe even you thought it was your call sign.)
but what do you all consider an alcoholic. NOTE: there's a difference between who MUST drink in the morning... and someone who drinks 1!! beer for the "hair of the dog".
my parents call me an alcoholic enough times each month. where i actually think about wether i am or not. even though my brother drinks about twice as much as me. and catches about half of the crap i get.
i exploded on my parents to stfu once or twice. but it deosn't matter, cuz my step-mom is totally agianst drinking (cuz her dad is a true alcoholic). and my dad just agrees cuz he's ***** whipped.
what do you consider an alcoholic?
