i know they can't go ALL the way down but if you give out and all that weight comes crashing back down and can force your legs to crush your body. it would be kinda like gettin run over by a geo metro.

Wow....
From reading the things on this thread today I have learned: the secret to getting skinnier and getting bigger boobs , and that Blindspot is either lying his *** off or tiny people can be super strong too. I also learned more about muscles that I wanted to know, and how to impress hot babes (Thank you Deadly), AND lastly that lots of people have strong legs.
Yep..had to share...why am I even reading this convo? I have no idea...
I have now wasted your time.

Well, I'm a Freshman, and just finished my football season. I can bench probably 140 but that is because I've never really did hard constant work outs until this year. I'm 6 feet tall and I probably way about 200 - 215. We have some type of machine similar to that image except you are laying flat on your back, it isn't like a seat, the most I've done on the leg press was 900, but that was cause there was no room to add weight. I can do about 750 on calf raises, I'd say most of my strength comes from my lower body but I'm trying to change that.

Well that was really random, not often do people summarize threads.....
3keys, you sure the machine where you lay on your back isent adjustable? The leg press machine at my school you can change the position of the seat and stuff.

most leg press seats have an adjustable back but the seat itself stays in place. seaHWANG don't be so sure of yourself, 1000 lbs is alot of weight on a guy that weighs 200lbs. hell its alot of weight for a guy that weighs 300 lbs. but i'm used to having alot of pressure on my legs all day long from football and jobs that require alot of lifting and stair climbing (you ever tried to carry a 65" projection tv up 3 flights of stairs? that shit SUCKS!). but anywho 1000 lbs is tough even for a guy in peak physical condition. with my knee being hurt i know i couldnt' do it now and probably won't ever be able to again.

My Max is 210 open. On closed i do 180. The leg press is easy for me because I can do 500+. I am a wrestler though.

honestly i dont believe a word seawhang said...especially about being a HS junior....he types like a 13 yr old...anyone that can bench 170 pds more than they weigh is probably on steroids....and i doubt even with steroids a 16 yr old would have lifted for a long enough time period to gain that much strength. i didnt even start lifting till i was 14-15
3keyz, you can leg press more than you can calf raise??? do you have cankles? i can calf raise quite a bit more than i can leg press myself....
honestly i think most people here are being truthful about their bench and BS-ing their squat/leg press, but whatever, doesnt matter
