gettin keys

i read somewhere that 1 outta 34 runs u get a key off countess/nahilathic/summoner. ive done about 50 today and nothing dropped.

i do runs with my necro and get one about every 15

yea its a 1 in 34 chance....as in every time you have a 1/34th chance of getting one. if your really lucky you could theoretically get one 34 times in a row, or if you are unlucky get 0 out of 34.

just to clarify i am not verifying that the 1/34 is right, i'm just saying that its a % chance not a set number

There's a set 1/? that's for countess, nick and summoner. If I can find the website I'll put it up. It's not as bad as 1/34 I dont think.

I have noticed that, I have played Ragnarok Online and noticed the drop system was quite different. BTW, I think its 1/34 chance on all...

[INDENT]Alright. I just got this off of http://www.battle.net/forums/thread.aspx...163465&P=1 It says under number 5. In a one player game, terror keys have a 1/14 chance to drop, hate has a 1/11 chance and destruction has a 1/12 chance. Good luck finding them.[/INDENT]

check the main page up at the top. theres like key strategies or something. just check through a few of those links and you will find out all you need to know about keys etc

just reconfirming, its a percentage, not a guranteed. its 1/34, sure. i did 10days of runs, 2keys. then, 1day, 4keys. 1/34, = 10/340, 100/3400, etc.

This quest is only available with the v1.11 patch in Hell difficulty games on battle.net.

There are three keys, and the chance to get them is random (1 in 34 chance).
1. KEY OF TERROR - Is held by The Countess (The Tower)
2. KEY OF HATE - Is held by The Summoner (Arcane Sanctuary)
3. KEY OF DESTRUCTION - Is held by Nihlathak (Halls of Pain)


Transmute the three keys in Act 5 to open one of three portals: Furnace of Pain, Matron's Den, or the Forgotten Sands. The game randomly decides which one to open, so you may have to do this a number of times to visit all three.


These three areas all have one Uber creature, who is not imune but has extremely high resistances, a very fast health recovery rate, and all minions are 2x harder.


In the Furnace of Pain you battle Uber Izzy. Izzy is the easiest of the three ubers, although the Pit Lords in the area are immune to Magic, Cold, Fire, Ice, and Lighting. Izzy drops Mephisto's Brain (that explains a lot, doesn't it?).


In the Matron's Den you battle Lilith, who is Andariel's sister. Mostly everything in the area is immune to Cold and Lightning. Lilith drops Diablo's Horn (he was her lover...YUCK!).


In the Forgotten Sands you battle Uber Duriel. He is the worst of the three with very high Physical Immunity and Holy Freeze, and drops Baal's Eye (no wonder Baal needed a seeing-eye clone to help him fight!).


Once you have all three items, you transmute them in Act 5 to make the final portal, which takes you to Tristram, where you battle Uber Diablo, Uber Baal and Uber Mephisto (AKA, the Uber Three Stooges).


Uber Diablo is the same as the creature that used tp appear as the result of the sale of SOJ's. He is the easiest of the three to kill. Uber Baal is similar to the Baal we all know as far as skills and spells are concerned, but he is surrounded by Vampire Lords that are Physical Immune. Uber Mephisto seems to be interested in getting back at us for all those Meph runs. He has an extremely fast teleport skill, raises undead Skeleton Archers, Mages and Fighters, and has a Conviction aura. Mephy is the hardest of the three.
When you've killed all three you get:


Hellfire Torch (large charm)
Req Level: 75
25% chance to cast Level 10 Firestorm on striking
+3 to (insert class here) skills
+10-20 to all Attributes
All Resistances +10-20
+8 to Light Radius
Level 30 Hydra (10 Charges)

Note: The 'plus to skills' attribute is randomly generated, so you may end up with a charm that is not for the class of character you are using.
