Uh-Oh, you guys guys got him excited. He might post twice in this thread!

Probably. I large percentage of the style cars are imports. We're talking pontiac right? Where are they based, I didn't think it was aus.

no pontiac is not based in australia but the 04-05 GTO's are modeled off the australian produced Holden Monaro. from what i can guess Holden produces a few different models of vehicles that have been adapted by other foreign and domestic brands such as the pontiac GTO and the Toyota Tacoma (holden rodeo). that way they don't all have to drive subarus Big Grin

Deadlyy, how did you get to drive a GTO up to those speeds...? Were you a lot manager or detailer?

PS 2 more months and I'm getting a raise... Big Grin

i put gas in the PDI's and then gave them to the techs (i did alot more but this is how i get to drive the new cars) and on saturdays they usually let me drive them so they could get more done. but one saturday we got the GTO in and the technician that was workin on it hooked up the programmer and turned off the speed limiter and we took turns driving it.

Deadlyy-Guy Wrote:its the pontiac version. still made in AUS but minus the Holden. 6.0L LS2 400hp 400ft-lb torque + programmer = teh fast
Not really minus the holden :p as all our HSV (performance line of holdens) have the 6.0L LS2. Only thing thats changed from our monaro is steering is changed to the opposite side and the badges are changed... I also beleive they put an uglier bodykit on it when they export it to the usa too.. not sure...

Attatched a pic of the auzie version...

thats because pontiac wanted it to look more like... well a pontiac. i actually like the holden's better myself. and what i meant by minus the holden was the name. pontiac pretty much took the holden, made a few small changes, and called it a pontiac. but either way they're extremely quick cars and i love the sound they make. never thought i'd hear something like that from a 2005 car, i think they sound better than the vette's

I think the one pictured above the Limited Edition... Just more interior mods and few extras yada yada is about $80,000 AUD.

They sound alright yeah... but the older auzie built v8's like ive got in my car sound a hell of alot better. Reall deep rumble... but they are slow lol.. Mines only 5.0L 195kw.

They are also halting the production of the Monaro again... so mmm probably another 15+ years untill they start making them again knowing them... :/ Its what happens when they appoint an american head of the Auzie GM branch :/

I operate a 65 inch rotary die cutter for the corrigated packaging industry. In other words i make cardboard boxes. Not normal boxes...really awesome die cut box. The best example of a die cut box would be dominos pizza boxes, with all the perferations. Its an absolute sucky job except the money is good. Weeks like i'll have in 2 weeks i sometimes bring home 2 - 2.5 grand in a week.
