its not your blending thats fine its they way you but the renders under your colour balance layers(which is right) but when u do colour balance layers the colours should be based on the render and not what u like.. then your render wont look so bad.
for example if jin had red and blue and black u would make three seperate colour balance layers for each colour. and then a simple way is to but the render under your layers mode set to normal and the but a render layer above your colour balance layers and set that to overlay also u can set the render under they colour layers to luminosity
