Oh god no! the one thing that could keep me from d2... the new patch, fine i can deal, deletion of hex's... ok ok, fine... but pay-to-play?! Nooooooooooooo! if they do i'll damn them to hell.............several times.......... and then they can get butt-raped by big red himself.. and then they'll know what it feels like to bend over and take the big one for someone else's profit....(not that big d considers butt-raping bnet profitable.... just entertaining...) sorry, way off topic but even the thought of that just pisses me off, i'm already in the mood to go ***** out bnet....

What they'll do is try paying, no one will do it, then it will go free again. Unless it's like 50 cents a year, no one will do it.

When you think of what it costs them, in comparrison to the monetary gain they get from it (very little from advertising, and practically nothing for game sales) I wouldn't be surprised. But whats the most popular online roleplaying game of all time... Ultima Online, and you pay to play that.
I don't think it's a great idea to charge for B.Net as it's the reason most people buy Blizzard games, they may end up shooting themselves in the foot. But if they did start charging you'd be surprised how many people would pay.

I'd quit all Blizzard games and wait for World of Warcraft to come out, wouldnt mind paying for that. But since it's free thats ok with me =)

WoW will make d2 look pretty crappy.
Actually, d2 is a great game, but blizz should make a d3 because with technology today, d2's graphics suck ***. Just stare at your screen with d2 running and you will see why.

No way, if they made D3 they'd make it 3D (wordplay not intended) and that would suck major ***. Stick with the classic isometric veiw thats one them years of acclaim is what I say.
Although WoW still looks so good I want to eat it.

of course they would... but you gotta keep it '2D' or it all goes to pieces. Make this one with more characters, LOTS more crafting, maybe weapon specialities, different monster classes, and the big bad wouldn't be baal, or diablo... it'd be tyrael and i think they should incorporate ninja ducks.

I hear they are gonna finish up with WoW and release SC Ghost. After that nothing is certain. I hope they make a Starcraft 2 before a Diablo 3.

I would disagree TroG..... i think Diablo is MUCH better than starcraft. The graphics are bad, the gameplay is not to fun, and the attacking and fighting isn't very exciting. In diablo you can take control and interact a lot more with trades and things. If i was blizzard, i would make a D3 with these features.
*FREE online (dont start making us pay or blizz will suck!)
*Tyreal as main boss.... in the 6th act  the more the better
*Keep the 7 chars, but make like 3 new ones, so we have 10, and up some skills on chars. Sorcs and pally's dominate the game, so add some new skills and up the other ones so more play them.
*Make more weapon classes, and better/different/more uniques!
*Have the 3 new chars out on a limb. Elemental and combat is everywhere. I know there isn't much else to chose from, but make maybe a COOL shapeshifter, a psychic type dude, that uses brain powers and stuff. Idk what 3rd char could be, but make em different.
*Better graphics, but DEFINETELY the same "2D" feel, 3D would ruin it.
*Interactive scenery. Run up too a bush sitting in front of some rocks and hack it to bits, to reveal a secret tunnel or something. Have a fort being held by archers and u have to cut a rope, dropping the drawbridge and fight your way through it, interactive like that.
*New skills to all chars
*More and more new monsters. Theres like a million varients on the fetish, get some new stuff.
There is so much blizzard could do to take the charts with D3, these are just some that popped into my head. Add your 2 cents..... (i really wanna char that uses brain attacks )

Whats blizzard going to do in 10 years when they cant make anymore sequels to either starcraft, warcraft or diablo. Or are they just going to keep going until they get starcraft 5 and waracraft 8 and diablo 34.

right now, i'd say blizzard is in a good spot. 5 years from now, unless they make a new, big hit, blizz will bo toast.
