Video card must have 128 MB or more memory and one of the following chipsets:
  • NVIDIA GeForce FX 5700 or greater
  • ATI Radeon 8500 or greater
I'd like to know how your friend even got it to install when he doesn't have the required VC, let alone play it on medium...

Yea, it won't run it very well at all. You may want to pick up something like an x800 and a 512MB sick of RAM.

also overclock your processor, your video card also can be overclocked;
my northwood is 2.4ghz stock, and with stock cooling a can easily hit the 3.0ghz barrier without heat-problems, that is a 26% overclock, but remember, i have a northwood, an do it in small steps, like +5fsb every time orso, it only needs +5% vcore.

and my 3d card runs stock at 275/265, not it is at 345/335, also an 26% overclock, and everything is just fine.

oh, btw, my ram is overclocked too, from 2/3/3/6 too 2/2/2/6

don't begin with all this without annymore info, try google, you will find loads on it.

Most people say it runs much better with 2 gigs, probably the only game that actually needs 2 gigs if you want to run it at med/high settings.
As for the FX5500, all I'm saying is that it's impossible to even install the game withough at least a 5700.

The AGP one will be ok. You may want to get another 512MB stick of RAM too though.

^^is that a good deal? considering its canadian and would that work good with battlefield 2?

and can you acually use 2 video cards? do they combine together so if you had two 256 mb video cards would it be just like one 512 mb video card?

Yea, that is actually a good price since it is in cacadian. And you can use two VCs, it's called SLI, or also it can be done with AIT's new Crossfire.
