smite damage

i was wondering what kind of smite damage is ideal for ubers. I test the ubers in single player by using edit and the smite damage is usually around 2k but i cant get the last sliver of health off the ubers to kill them. I hear you dont need godly gear to kill the ubers so i put on various low runewords and mid rune words and i still cant seem to kill them.

if you haven't read that guide yet, to kill ubers having high crushing blow is better.
