O.K. for the record I DON'T play hammerdin, not my idea of fun, but my buddy wants to build one for MFing and maybe to run Baals. The question here is that since most of his gear will be MF based not skill based(i.e. Goldwrap over Arachnids, Chance Guards over Magefists Nagels over SoJs etc.), how much damage is "not enough" to be effective? I know even the basic hdin has the MF from the Shako and Enigma but he wants a good deal more than that and gettin a shitload of 7MFscs isn't really an option. So basically in conclusion any tips on high % MF hammerdins will be very much appreciated. Thanks.

For mf or pvm at least 9k but for pvp aroudn 14-16k regions dont expect that high of a damage without the right gear

17k for running baal or diablo is always nice, but 9k will do if you like having a weak character O.o

meh i dont remember much but i just remember more fcr is better then full dmg and no fcr so i mix damage and fcr actually just dont listen to me -_-

125%FCR and 10-12k is good for decent killing and having nice life and MF.

Just because you do low dmg doesnt mean you screwed something up. Its normally because of your items. Give me list might be able to tell you why.
Make sure you have maxed:
Blessed Hammer
concentration
Blessed Aim
Vigor.
My hammer does 11k with bo and without hoto. Is is by far enough for dia, baal, and mfing. 9.5k def and 3.4k life with bo.
