The money you have to pay monthly is to pay for the bandwith that keeps the game so "IIIERRRistable"

ok, mmos are a hugely growing market, ever since evercrack 1 came out. thus many other mmos came out, diable and the sort. at the time, blizz was making money off of sales from sc,d1,d2(no expan),lod,wc1,2,3,frozen, but what has it come out with the last 3 years? nothing where do they get their money? AN MMO, highly addiciting and easily spread. the only problem i have with mmos, the main plot is not there or people lose sight of what was meant to do, quest, not level, people forget that there is a plot and dont pay attention to it anymore, thus the game is detroyed for me, along with many other mmos, like diablo, "im a pwnz you", "LEET DIABLO RUN", what about the plot! nobody cares about it, which is sad, b/c then the scripter wasted their time with dialog and that stuff, should have just set out bins and money and had people go at it untill the cows come home

I disagree with how you said people purely levelling ruins the game. If there weren't people wanting to get stronger, instead of playing through the whole story of the game, there would be no purpose for PvP. (something I thoroughly enjoy)

"irresistible" bandwidth? Are you freaking kidding me? Have you even been to Ironforge? the bandwidth is far from irresistible. the money is to pay programmers to constantly "trickle" update the game to keep everyone honest. In addition to anti-hack, the money is spent to pay programmers to create new quests, quickly fix bugs, and increase the story lines/ plot / items.

It's not the lack of bandwidth that causes the lag in IF, it's the population (at least 4:1 in favor of Alliance on most servers) and the fact that even though Blizzard is a multi-milllion dollar a year company, their servers are less than top-of-the-line.
