Merc lvling

I'm a 75 hamerdin, my merc is a 13 act 1 normal defencive. How the heck can I lvl him up quickly?

buy a new merc.

First, take off any gear that you have on him off, then make a nightmare game and buy a new merc in A2 and make sure it is defensive, then put the gear back on. The merc you buy should be around level 75. (your level)

I hear that starting a merc from low lvl gives him higher res and damage over all at higher lvls, is this confirmed? And I want a defience merc, not thorns which would be from NM.

If your a hammerdin, use a Holy Freeze merc from NM A2 which is defensive.

Holy freeze you say? Most the guides I was looking at recomend defience. But personaly I've alwasy liked freezers too.

Does anyone know if Hiring a merc at low lvl makes him more powerful at higher lvls?

I dont think it does cuz on my zealer my lvl 93 merc does 4.8 k and i bought him once i got my zealer hi level but my sorc's merc does 4.7 k and she wearing same gear same type of merc and that merc is lvl 91....

and also if you have a sorc even though everyone thinks that act 2 merc so good for sorc that is going to be ranged like fire bolt not like a nove cuz u got to get near them for that but ne wayz if u r going to pvp alot then get a act 1 because with the right equipment then a fire or ice one is really good seeing how u dont want to tele next to them to attack you want to be away from them

Then again like Kyle said though for ahmmerdins deffinetly use a frezer act 2

Thats what I've been looking at Night. It does say that mercs hired on normal are better overall, but it doesn't say if hiering them at low lvls helps or not. That's what I'm realy trying to figure out.

I have a merc now that I hired at lvl 2. I want to know if i should take the time to lvl him up, or just dismiss him and hire a new one at my lvl.

Oh well, uhh I guess I misunderstood, well if your looking for defiance, then hire one from normal so you get the lvl 18 aura instead the lvl 16, plus you get the small boost in stats, it doesn't matter what level he is so I'd just hire a new one. Only the level difficulty which you hire him seems to alter the stats.

yeah second act freezing merc...then u can go lvl it off nm cows or wutever u want

the difference of hiring a merc low lvl and raising or not doing that is very tiny and not worth the time. holy freeze is the best merc for hammerdin as u need monsters to stop moving so ur hammers wont miss them. try not to put kb gear on merc, mine uses giant skull and the kb is really annoying -.-

Well from what i have heard if you get a lower lvl merc and lvl him his stats are way better. Since they have changed the exp on the merc's to stay close to you lvl lvl him in normal cows then nm cows. I am going to try this. This weekend
