Whats better for merc? Eth BoneHew Or Botd Ghost spear??

What wepon os better a Eth bonehew with 334%ed (sheal and 40edjewel) Or a Reg Botd Ghost spear?? i dont have a ed% for botd cuz i didnt make yet.

if its eth than the botd is by far better, i had a 395ed one before, did like 1190dmg on the weapon, very fast atk speed, combined with fort its a killing machine

BOTD will be better as Link said, but I would rather go for insight or infinity for the auras.

go for eth don't even try reg cuz botd gives indestructable mod. if u a hammerdin, this wep or insight (ladder only) would be the best way to go.

from what i remember mercs can only wear polearms? check to see if it can wear before make

i would use the eth bonehew especially if it's pvm. your merc won't die, mine never did. i had him use fortitude, perf gaze (i thikn it was ber'd or ed/max jewel, dont remember) and eth 319 amn-shael hew. pvm he never died. actually, i do remember one time, was in a baal run and lister was fanta. only time i can remember

and: i would use the bonehew because it's cheaper and works just as well. i think it's overkill to use eth botd on a merc, especially if you use fort. i was always jewish with my runes though

act 2 mercs cant use bonehews so go with the ebotd

E Reapers is great. Act II mercs can use all polearms and spears if I am not mistaken. I, however, know beyond any doubt that act II mercs can use bonehew.

Yes Bonehew is a polearm it can use he is using it now. So i should only make a botd if its an eth polearm mainly reapers or ghost.....

You should, in my opinion, not make a EBotd for a merc, period. The only real exception I could think of would be a CB, but that's act5 merc. New ballgame there.

You could, last time I was on bnet, get a good % clean Eth Bhew for gul-1hr. Take that, shael/amn it. Use vamp gaze with max LL/DR, I always socketed mine with either a ED/max jewel and a Ber. ALso, of course, use Fortitude.


You can fully outfit your merc with gear that will almost guarantee him no death, ever for the price of an EBotd. Alas, if youmake it yourself, what if you get ~350%? Total waste of runes. Nobody really awnts to buy Merc botds anyway, and a low % is just out of the question.

the 50% ed difference is a pretty big gamble, i usually just buy mine instead of making them myself
