Hammerdin vs. Lightning Sorc
#21
yes they can be but if we are comparing full hammerdins to full light sorcs u might as well judge fairly.. u can substitute many things on both chars so for evalution lets just compare then fully

wouldn't the price be based on what kind of gear you'd want? say you want 300%mf that isn't so much to get for both. But sorc still has better cast rate than a hammerdin?

Its ovious that if u compare the 2 it becomes ovious that the hammerdin is the better choice.

There are tons of builds(gear) for these 2, both of them can use very very cheap gear and i will not list it here(ali baba,nagels,wt,shako,...). However to be effective the hammerdin must use enigma and the light-sorc an infinity rw on her merc. Infi is more expensive then enigma in every sense.

When u look at parts:
-runes: Ber Ber Ist Mal Vrs Jah ith Ber
-armor: eth cv = mal Vrs 3 sock archon = um-mal.

when u look in cost:
low enigma = 6-7 ists vrs low infi = 7-9 ists.

Furthermore and to finish this arguement: Hammerdin can kill every major boss in game including muc more uniq boses then the light sorc can. less important: the hammerdin also gets around faster due to his maxed vigor skill.

Siris is giving some bad advice and not looking at the facts just because he dosn't like the hammerdin.

The thing is, I have seen lots of ppl using just: Occy, shako, viper, 1 sorc amu, goldwrap, lidless, chanceguards, nagels and merc having Insight eth cv, shaft, tal helm... That would be pretty cheap, right? Lots cheaper than a hammerdin IMO...

If you have a hammerdin already, stay with that. I have a light sorce because she was easy and cheap. I don't know why everyone here has such expensive builds. The most expensive item I have is my merc's Insigth, and it isn't even etheral! I started with some junk armor, an orb, a diamond socketed shield and what ever other stuff I had found on the way to level 65; nothing special. I started running my bot with a very large pkid and upgraded to better gear as I found it. Even with the junk I started with I leveled quickly to leveo 80+ and then over 2 weeks to level 92 (haven't leveled since either). So what if you die once in a while? It's a bot, its only purpose is to make runs for you when you can't. Go as cheap as you can and don't worry about it.

Yeah and when d2jsp comes out hammerdin will be best anyway. Did you ever see a light sorc bottin baal runs?

Yeah, hammerdins are more reliable for baal runs or anything else, but you have to have a CTA, Enigma, Hoto, and the rest and to be at least level 85 to do much by yourself.

bigdeath Wrote:Hammerdin can be cheap. You can substitute hoto for wizspike. Shako is cheap if you dont use hoz use a pally spirit with good resist and bam your in business. The only thing you really need is nigma and once you get that and bot a while the other peices will come. A sorc really needs sojs shako occy coh infinity and all that crap, so in my opinion the hammerdin is actually cheaper to start with.

wtf are you talking about... everyone really... if you can afford tals armor and ammy then youre good with the light sorc. hammerdins are only worth the trouble if you wanna bot trav.

my sorc has full tals & lidless magefist fcr rings and reapers toll tals helm gris armor on merc.. i started botting at 75 and im now 93. she died only once, and it was a laggy day.

i bot on two pcs one with hammerdin and the other with light sorc with no es.

Yeah thats what I was thinking, and thats basically what my sorc used to wear, worked fine even with my laggy internetBig Grin. But hammerdins are better if you use d2jsp(when it comes out) and baal bots nd stuff. Both are pretty easy to get gear for IMO.

yea but we dont have jsp do we? we are talking about mm.bot.

ofcourse i argee that hammerdins are better for harder situations. a sorc takes skill, a hammerdin doesnt.

Yeah overall hammerdin on the other side can kill pretty much everything while sorcs can't kill Immune type

you could use tals but why limit yourself to what you can do when you can just get a hammerdin and kill everything

People who stat that hammerdines are more expencoive are wrong imo since i would never go to Hell with a sorc who doesn't have Infiniti. Infiniti = Enigma therefore the price is the same. The rest of the eq can be very cheap.

Because when you start out you dont have anything that would make a decent hammerdin.
Light sorcs are cheap. None of this you gotta buy griffons bullshit or infinity. I bot my light sorc doesnt die, has 600% mf (as you would realise thats no plus skills just about) I use all mf gear, only plus skills come from shako/tal ammy and torch.

bigdeath Wrote:Yeah and when d2jsp comes out hammerdin will be best anyway. Did you ever see a light sorc bottin baal runs?
Yes.
