Cannot download patches, need help.

I am unable to download the patches...i start downloading and it gets to 10-15% and i am disconnected from battle.net. Has any one come across this problem before, or know how to fix it? I havnt played diablo in quite some time. I moved a while ago and im stuck with dial-up. And of course, my dial-up here is much worse for some reason that it was where i lived before(about ten minutes away). The only other alternative is wireless dsl internet called Fox Valley Internet but, i heard that there really crappy. And i completly re-installed windows since last time i was able to play also. But for some reason i cannot stay connected to battle.net even though i stay connected to the internet. if any one can help me that would be a real help.

You can dl the patch off the internet.. Like google a d2 1.11b patch or something. I'm not sure of any good/safe sites, But thats the only other thing i can think of.

Yeah but i mean...if i cant even finish dling the patches, how could a be able to stay on and play? :/

It could just be a problem dling the patch. Like after you get the patch dl'ed it might work fine..

Perhaps try reinstalling D2, and then try going back on B.net and letting it automatically try to update; if that doesn't work you can also try manually installing the patch (after you reinstalled D2); a good link for the patch would be here: http://www.blizzard.com/support/?id=mdt0387p; good luck.

Ok, i messed around with the gateway editor. I guess that helped cus i was able to dl the patch but, diablo doesnt run well. When i got in a game it would lag and even clicking on the stash or changing weapons would lag.
