You want it above 60+, this game sometimes dips low. Aswell, it seems you have a internet connection problem, try forwarding your ports 6112. RAM could be a suspect, check if you have an extra slot and match a new stick of ram to the one you have (ddr, ddr2 etc) As well, I never heard of 30 Mb connection as thats speed of T3, check your speed by googling BANDWIDTH TESTER.

60+ is more for like world of warcraft or heavy fps games that show constant large movements on multiple scales. D2 shows stability with fps between 48-55. I use different ones on the computers since each one is built differently. but if you want just a stable play, 512mb ram should work with a processor between 933mhz and up. if you have less and still want stability, e-mail me sometime and we'll work together on how to set up your computer to make it a bit faster and cleaner play with a few cleanups and a antilag plugin i built for the game for older computers.
p.s.
if anyone gets the cash to build one, i highly suggest the intel xeon duo processor. i just recently got one and its so badass...had to special order it directly from the company tho through a guy in cali whos a rep.

You know, I'm not really a computer person, hate ta say it. I just like playing games a lot. Anyways the slot to put the ram stick in, would that be the same thing were you put in the data sticks? and how do you forward ports? Thanks and sorry for the whole lot i don't know.
1 more thing, can any suggest a book to me that can teach me this.
Like a computer building for dumbies. Or something more complexed.

its just a memory stick. just make sure you get the right pin amount.. if you dont want to upgrade your computer, just get a plugin to lower the lag in diablo 2 that halves the animations so the fps stays stable if not higher.
