Stings mh problem

I have recently downloaded strings 2.24 and i have a problem. For starts, when i go to the bin and double click the .exe it only opens the notepad. So what i did was i moved the .exe file into the hackmap folder, and by doing this i got the install plugins, options, reveal map etc. screen to come up, however the notepad screen will now not come up. So my first question is, and i believe this is the source of my problem but, how long does it take to get the reveal map window to come up after clicking the .exe in the bin folder? Perhaps it just takes a couple minutes however i find this highly unlikely. When i clicked reveal map, it came up with an error that says "Make sure you are in game before doing this. If you are already in game but still got this information, it is usually due to mismatched game version, which you can get in "about me" dialog." I then clicked ok but nothing was revealed.

just download it and unzip it as it is and then modify th options to what the picture on this page says
