are any games directed to girls though, not really. all games are mostly directed at guys. only reason there's 3 female characters in diablo is so they aren't accused of being sexist. i mean really, do you expect to see a chick playing mortal combatin an arcade. i've seen lots of girls play games like ddr though. maybe if they saw games more appealing like ddr then they'd be more into gaming.

Dance Dance Revolution, the game where it shows arrows on the screen and you gotta stomp the arrow when it reaches the little slot.
Also Hellsing, Sorceress and Amazons should be female. I guess Sorc can go either way but there are no guy Amazons.
On Guild Wars, every character can be a chick or a guy. I tend to make more chick characters because the armor and everything else just looks better. I'd rather not see an anorexic ninja guy or a big ass dude in a skirt for warriors.

Anyway, there are a few female d2 gamers but most of them are older than 30 or so. If you play late at night in duel games you actually get to know people.
