I was actually asking for a critique, but I can understand how it can look like "idle chit chat".

love how the fire from his hands look as though they were making light in the surrounding.

and the brushing or whatever it is gives the background some foresty strange haunted place look. really nice.

the border is 2px tho!!! bad!

also for the text, try duplicating the layer and blurring the text on one of the layers alot. sometimes it gives a cool effect.

i made my first two sigs i haven't put text in them because i have no good fonts and don't know where to get them, i followed one of frog man's tuts (its different because i don't know where to get the brushes he said to use) and the other one is off a link at good tutorials, its not finished because i don't know how to put scan lines into it.
and here they are i no they are bad but my first try

thanks divine i figured out how to in scan lines and found a nice text to put on here is finished product, although could use a little bit more work.

Bounda, looks good, text is in a nice spot, but behind the brush layer? Makes it harder to ntice and read that way. It looks like it has a start to a nice flow from the bottom left corner to the top right corner, but with the amount of noise in the middle grey area, it stops the eye on that spot. When I look at it, my eyes go first to the render, then the grey area. You want to create it to where the eyee will "flow" from one side to the other, or in a pattern. Looks pretty good though. 6.5/10.

Nexus, the first one is a bit, bland, and gives off a sullen look with the dull colors. The render sticks out to much, the background is to busy, and the text doesn't really fit. Also, it doesn't have a border. IMO: 4.5/10

Second one looks really good, the render is a good starting focus point, and the leaves help guide the eye around the image in a circular motion, which has a good effect. Font makes the text stick out a bit, maybe try a differant, solid font. Brushing looks good, but again, colors are to dull. For this one, I would say the color scheme makes it work though. Also, no border. A 1 px border makes the image constrained and makes the eye stop, rather then running off the image. Constrain the image, constrain the eye. IMO: 7/10.

Just keep practicing and check out the tuts here. Also, always look for new brushes and fonts. Here is one I did for a competition on another site:

thanks ZK for the helpful reply i put boarders on those but i am going to keep them as is and improve on making new sigs. i have tried making a new one using another tut which was hard to understand but i got through it all right with ok looking outcomes.
