The bands I dislike most,
1 !atD. Just lame..
2:The Killers. Over rated, and lame.
3:Hatebreed. Racist... And lame.
As for what xDBD said in an early post, about biggie being a great rapper, and metal heads being biast and only liking metal, thats completely right. I could go on, but I dont want to flame. =)
Well, if you say that metalheads only like metal, then I guess that I am not a metalhead. Even though about 90% of the music I have is metal, there is lots more that I listen to. I don't listen to a band, because they make metal, I listen to anything that sounds good to me, therefore, since 90% of what I think sounds good is metal, I tend to call myself a metalhead. I don't think that prospect ought to be very difficult to comprehend. Besides metal, I listen to some old punk (no point mentioning names, since most bands are from my country). Then there is classical. I absolutely adore classical music, and that is what I mainly listen to besides metal. I don't care how talented "biggie" is/was (I don't know, they tend to kill each other off every few days or so), but Strauss was still so much more talented that he could even imagine.
xDBD Wrote:But do you acknowledge his talent? I don't like the whole "rap is talentless" shit. I'd love to see you rap haters flow like Sage Francis or Biggie Smalls. Google up a song like Makeshift Patriot or Juicy. They have great groove and the rhymes are killer, and with most good rappers, they actually present a very good point and opinion. Just because they can't play a million notes a second on a guitar doesn't mean they aren't talented.
If you think mixing beats is easy, please.. download Goldwave or Fruity Loops and make a beat that you can groove too. Please? I dare you. It ain't easy and it takes a lot of creativity, patience, love for the art (all music is art, if you disagree with that, you're the fxckin' dolt), and skill. Practice, too.
When you pump out a Juicy, Makeshift Patriot, or Happy Pills.. anything someone can dance and groove too, let me know. I'm sure i'll be waiting a lifetime.
Walk a mile in someones shoes before you bash something.
I do acknowledge their talent, I just believe that with that talent of theirs, they could be making a lot better music than that. I also went into this mixing shit with youngimmortal. That was pretty much his main arguement. And I really doubt that biggie makes his own beats.
xDBD Wrote:Also, please go up against the local rap scene in a freestyle. You will get crushed sooo fast. Good rappers and freestylers can't be toutched in the rhyme game.
Noshit, I believe that they have been doing it for much longer.
AlmostDeadly Wrote:1.Disturbed -- I'm sorry, their lead singer is just too much a dolt for me to like the music. Also all his songs sound too much alike for me.
2.Prodigy -- Is this a band? Anyways I hate them alot becuase for some reason the only rock station here in town think they jam or something and play them all the time
3.Gorillaz -- Again.. are these guys a band or do they just do mixes?
I happen to like some Prodigy. I still agree with you on the others,

Stop being such an arrogant shit, if you want to name three bands you don't like and shut the hell up.
Saying that someone should not like something they like because you think it's crap? No one cares.
I'll be quiet now, not here to start a flame...

Although I agree with all the bands you listed Grreen Day isn't really emo. They're more of a mainstream pop/punk. And for me to put punk in there is a compliment to them.

Ha, wrong you are. I'm a musician actually. My areas of interest however lye in Speed/Thrash/Power Metal. I pick it because they can simply play their instruments 100fold better than any of the bands ive listed, and they dont sing/scream about how sad life is, how satanic they can be, or about their bitches and hos that are all up in the hizze.
I love bands like Megadeth, Metallica, Rhapsody, Judas Priest, Pantera, Blind Guardian, Running Wild, Thy Majestie, and such.

No way in hell a death metal band would have hardcore influences. Hardcore sucks and death metal rules so therefore the two cannot be combined.

People make music with different influences. I play guitar, and the riffs I write I get from listening to bands like, FATA, Elysia, Throwdown, etc. I'm unfluenced by all bands I listen to. I listen to classical piano and play it on guitar. But thats kind of off topic. Basicaly, I'd like to know who you are, "tool" to say what can be, and cant be done in music. Your no one to say that. Music is Music, and people create labels to music. Its like rules. All metal kids HAVE to hate emo kids and hxc kids. But thats your problem if you let your life be controlled by a label. I pity you.

Good screamo bands.... thats like.. the best joke ive ever heard! you should do stand up!
But Tool is right man. Death metal and Hardcore are SOOOOOOOOO different man. Thats like saying... Behemoth or Dimu Borgir could be comparible with like, As I Lay Dying, or whatever other harcore bands people listn to these days. I dont even know what to call like..silverstien and atreyu and such. Id like to call em hardcore, but, theyre so bad that I dont even wanna call em that!
The style is completly different, although people try to put them together because of the singing.
But in the end. Death metal pwns Hardcore.

Throwdown sucks. That's all there is to it. I went to see them with The Red Chord and a few other local hardcore bands. If you've heard of Still Remains, they're were the only thing there that was worth listening to. They reminded me of As I Lay Dying. That being said, I think I've established that I do listen to some hardcore. Being that I also listen to some death metal I will tell you here and I will tell you now. Death metal will never be mixed with hardcore.
No dude, I don't hate emo kids because I'm metal. I hate emo kids because they're ****ing faggots and pussies who don't deserve to walk on my Earth. I definitely don't hate hardcore kids because I'm friends with a lot of 'em at my school. So please proceed to licking it. I pity you.

Well, i mean, sure it's technically opinion. But when an opinion about music is based on talent of the musicians, it should be a pretty fairly true opinion. Theres no real argument with that, when your comparing actual complex riffs of death metal, to the same power chord played like.. dundundun, dundundun, dundundun, over and over agian, with a few more chords thrown i there ocasionally.
Im not saying all death metal is good. I personally like thrash and speed metal more due to its complexity. Death metal isnt all as sweet. But i mean like, bands like Lamb of God (even though i dont particularly like them too much), I dont think they can be out riffed these days in complexity of the music anyways.
So sure its opinion.. but it makes sense.

And it just so happens I went to the throwdown, black dahlia murder, red chord show. And it was tight. And just fyi, its not just YOUR world. Kthanks.

As for lamb of god, i dont like them much, but they're straight up ****ing amazing. And as for simple riffs.... I guess I listen to different hardcore bands than you, cuz a lot of the shit they play isnt simple.

My brother's band played with a guy who got asked to be in Black Dahlia Murder. He was a drummer and he's ****ing amazing. He denied their request because he's a ****ing retard. I don't know if he was asked before they were famous but I bet he's kicking himself in the ass now.
Throwdown sucks for many reasons. One being the thing you said they are. Straightedge. GET SOME ****ING BALLS. I ****ing hated it when they played their little hardcore, *****-ass, bull shit "straightedge for family, friends, myself" shit. **** that song and **** all the hardcore bands that play that shitty "straightedge this and straightedge that" songs.
It is my world. It has always been my world. It always be my world. Learn this and you will do great in life. "Kthx".
Do not call hardcore dancing a pit. It is not a pit. It is a place for kids to let their anger out when they get pushed around from the metal kids like me earlier in the day at school for wearing chick pants and make-up with their faggoty ass emo-style haircuts. Because lets face it. You're not hardcore unless you have an emo haircut.
Are you sure you weren't listening to the DRUMMER'S amazing shit? Because some/most hardcore bands have really good drummers while they suffer from shitty guitars.

I love throwdown, I'm sorry you cant apreciate them, your loss.
Its NOT your world... Because if it was, the entire earth would consist of dirty smelly nappy haired metal kids. There are still some emo kids, gangsters, hippies, hxc kids, and evrything else. Therefore, its not your world. Dream on.
You hardcore dance IN A PIT. Go to some shows, do some research, then get back to me. Metalheads dont try to kick the shit out of hardcore kids cuz they're smart. They know if they did, theyd get owned.
And yes, I know the difference between DRUMS and GUITAR. Noob.
