If u was running MSN while installing IE7 and u got a protocal " protocal = rule" so u broke a Rule. Try installing it while msn is off or updating msn b4 installing IE7

Everything in Internet Explorer 7 is already in Opera (including the nifty full screen browsing) and more. I'm a website designer and have used every make and model of every browser I could find to absolutely make sure my website looked the same and followed XML 1.0 Strict standards. Opera is the only major browser (to date) that passes the ACID2 compliance test for W3C standards.

Yes, I was a major follower of Firefox for the longest time until Opera went public. Firefox needs a major GUI makeover and some time spent on the box model components of CSS to bring it back in the game. Everything about Opera (9.0) is easier and I would strongly recommend switching.

To verify this check out this website, can your browser do this:

I will, thank you.

Firefox is fine. I've never had a problem with it. ANY browser beats anything Microsoft has put out... and my choice has been FF for a long time.

I'm just stating that IE7 beta doesn't let me run MSN. IE7 looks a lot cleaner than firefox.

if your talking about "cleaner", FF is far cleaner than ANYTHING that microsoft makes.

Then you really messed something up. There is nothing wrong with Firefox, and I think it is better then IE6 with security, speed, tabs and extensions, and equal to IE7 in security but still superior in speed, tabs (just a better system) and in helpful things such as extensions...

/i used to use ie7+msn 7.5 + wmp 11 and no problems
now i also got windows messenger live, still no problems/

for some reason u shouldnt install a microsoft software while running another microsoft program.
it must be because all microsoft programs share some file that needs to be modified when installing something new but i dont really know.

Try downloading Windows Messenger Live (msn 8) and make sure windows media player and ie and msn are closed before installing it. (there is no msn plus! compatible with this version yet tho)

or

Re-install IE7 with Msn OFF (and with windows media player off too, incase u use it)

if u installed ie7 and u do not have a genuine windows xp, it wont let u install it. if u want to know how to bypass the genuine advantage check the thread in the 1337 section
plus if u guys think ff is better than ie7, u must be living on another world. not to mention ff is the ugliest program ive ever seen in my life. IE 7 has addons as well, and unless ur running on a slow computer (700mhz for example) it will run at a good speed
Plus with IE7 u can decide if u want to let a flash/javascript in a website run or not, while u browse the site itsel
