there should be one...i know this isn't a joke

you are in a hallway, there is a door at the end of the hallway and 3 switches on the wall to your right. all 3 switches are down. (the only other choice is up) the door is open and you can see a lightbulb in the room hanging from teh ceiling. a guard shuts the door and tells you you have one hour to know which switch controls the lightbulb. 2 switches do nothing and one controls the lightbulb. before the hour is up you can open the door one time only. you cannot move any switches after you open the door and you must make your guess after opening the door. there are no windows or any such way to enter the room other than the door.
