Is Open safe?

I know this question is a stupid one but I'm just curious if Open is safe or not. I've been on it a few times and I know people can hack their items and disconnect you (can only hosts disconnect you?). Can players hack into your system through Open? Could the items contain viruses?

Open just lets you mess with the game. (there are some really fun hacks on open) Its fun when you just feel like getting away from all the rules of diablo.(No, the people that have the gate hack can kick you out hosted or not, but as long as your not a **** they have no reason too.

EDIT: I like zonfire as my mod for open, i really dont know of many others, but zonfire works great for me. You can mod a items in any way you want to a degree. But it dose take some knowledge of how to make good items too build a really good item, char. You can also be what ever lvl you wish, and put all your skills to lvl 99 and stats to a insanely high base stat. Also have every wp found, and every q done.

they cant do anything to you through diablo. they can totaly mess up all your shit i think but who cares just get it back with hero editor. nothing to worry about because whatever you lose you can recreate no problem.

You just said it yourself:p Nothing to worry about. yes, it can mess your char and items up, but its not very common and (as you said) you can just remake them. ust dont be a **** skull, lots of people have gate, dont give them a reason to kick you.

yes its hela safe i used to play on open always with zonfire u CANNOT get detected with hacks etc. but u cannot face uber bosses u can use zonfire for there items but u cant fight em

I'm just curious if there's any Godmode hack out there. I kept trying to duel but keep losing. Can someone please make me a good hacked charm? :p

nugget, its not that they CANT detect, its just that they dont care if you hack on open...thats why its called open

There is no hack to become a so called "god". You need to know what stats/items to put in. Here are some things you should put in.

Life
Life %
Mana %
Max mana
All absorbs in the "By Level"
Peirce attack
All resists in the "By level"
Attacks on it.
Prayer when equipped.
Damage.

And so on. I mean dont just make things to make you "look" cool. It doesent matter how you look it matters how strong you are. I mean I have a lvl 99 sorc on open, I dopple zonned it. Glitched it. So no one can see my gear. Added some really good damage and PI qualities. And badaboom your kicking ass.

I suggest you go there. The best site out for explaining everything about hacking on open battle.net. Shows you PI and about it and damage counculation. Stuff like that. There are also clones you can download to get a good example of what you should add.

I suggest those for good clones on open battle.net. But please, clones are NOT for dueling and being like" o i made this char and it ownzz u ya ! ". And please dont redo the item qualities and change the character name. Making him look like he isnt a clone. Once again use theese to get a good idea of stat editing and what to put in your items.

A handy little note on the side is to stack your auras. Im not sure about jay of teror but I know you can learn how to do that on this site and ladder hall.

- Be cautious that when you keep asking for free charms.. people like to bug them with hero editor and give them to you. Doing this will make all your items red, your char wont be able to move and u just gotta leave the game. But no worries! As long as you have hero editor you can remove the charm without a harm on your character.

From a D2 Item file, no. If you download a ZIP that claims to be a D2 Item file it is possible that it is a virus, so be carefull.

There is no way to get a virus through hosting a game on open.
