Hackers and people putting viruses on ur computer can do whatever the **** they want. For example, popups. Anyone could easily get a virus from a popup. If you find something that a hacker who knows what hes doing can't do, let me know...

I guess when you go to any web page it gets downloaded to your screen, like cache, you download the page so next time you view it it doesnt take as long. And when you download ANYTHING from ANYWHERE there is always a chance of getting a virus.

nervous about veiwing porn are we? lol j/k. but yeah you can get viruses from just going to sites but not as often as in downloads. just get a good firewall and spyware/virus scanners and you'll be fine.

Should be safe. Good lord my roomate, first night he got his computer he completely infected it with spyware/adware/viruses.

you could scarcely do anything for sixty seconds without getting massive bannerads popping up for pregnant porn.

*shudders*.

(also Devine, I became a vet too today! highfive!)

There are exploits in browsers, a good hacker can easily get around using these exploits to install malaware and other crap onto your computer. Although Microsoft releases security updates for Internet Explorer, there are still exploits that are unpatched. This is one of the reasons I recommend Firefox, it is a lot safer of a browser when it comes to security.

Firefox is alot safer than ie, i'm not sure why windows default is ie, but that's their buisness. Just get a virus scanner and firewall and ulle be fine (wouldnt suggest windows firewall tho)

Grats to u to deadly. Spelled my name wrong BTW lol.. Anyway, when I download firefox it seems to go slower than my IE and crashes sometimes. Ill do CTRL ALT DELETE and it will say "Fire Fox "Not Responding". And firefox wont move or anything. That happend to me when I was making a huge tutorial once and I got so pissed. I deleted firefox and never went on again. But I use it sometimes still.

Internet Explorer is the default browser for Windows because they are both made by Microsoft :p

I wouldn't suggest Windows firewall either, ZoneAlarm is a good free one.

Also, by activating ActiveX controls (if you're using IE) can cause viruses to be installed.
