.08 Worth It or Not?

I am debating splurging for a .08 Valk, problem is I'm not really sure whats its worth. From what I've heard is a damn fine peice of monitor dots and that its worth it. Just curious to hear what others have to say.

they are pretty good for zon (obviously) but i'm pretty sure you won't find one that won't poof. atleast on east.

most easily poof, but if you're rich enough... and aren't spending (trading) all you have on it, then sure it's worth it, you're only rich if you have a 08 valk and wiz gloves, durrrrrrrrrrrr.

Well, my original thought was...Does the cost offset by the performance or do you pay more than you get out of usage. Just a thought, if you have to be so godly to get one then why would it poof easy if not that many people have one. Other than the gear glitch with torches and annis I would imagine it wouldn't be that difficult to keep one. if you see a helm that looks like a Valk leave last or temp-perm it.

Any comments on my theory?

true, but the real rich people do not have to worry about loosing a valk. on the poofing matter, these aren't common because the people that have them usually have more than one...

What in the world is that supposed to mean? First you say rich people don't have to worry about it then you state the problem that you may not be able to find someone to perm, but you really only have to worry about in trading games or long questing games when people with godly items will be coming and going through out the entire game. Couldn't you just wait till everyone leaves in a baal game or at least for majority to leave to lessen the chances significantly that someone would also have a .08 Valk. The only way I can understand whats you said is if someone got it and duped it in case their's popped.

No FCR on one of those or FHR. Granted FHR can be done,but the other mod would be res I assume.

I'm talking about +2 class skill / 20 fcr / 2 sockets. 2 shael runes and you have a +2 skill / 20 fcr / 40 fhr helm. If this is for a caster, then the only thing a valk has over this is 10 fcr.

what are the stats of 08 valks? i've played ladder since it started and only dueled in .09 for maybe 4 weeks before .10 came out

+30% Increased Attack Speed
+30% Faster Cast Rate
+30% Hit Recoverey

yeah i'd pay my ass for that if i was pvp'ing. faster run/walk, FHR, ias, FCR.. all it's missing is resists.

i'm more of a pvm kinda dude thoughm, or just trolling/chatting on a d2 client

then again, unless you're a hybrid (maybe hammerdin/charger like Veck) there are more specific helms for casters and melee chars that are better. IE: 2sock Coa, 2/20/2, etc

My idea that was stuck in my head was that it two people join a game Player A and Player B it would go like this:

1. Player A + B join a game and play.
2. Neither player knows other player has a dupe item with he same tag.
3. If Player B leaves game before Player A then his duped item is removed. (or vice versa)

It could be that i have some outdated information. Then again it would seem logical for them to delete both items. One time when I was trading a fletch ammy another guy showed me his(same stats and picture id) and I left because he was also trading the ammy. Well next game I no longer had mine and i asked around, I was told my idea from someone so thats how I do it now.

Well, IMO it's a game. who cares about should you or shouldn't you buy that bad boy. but only if you won't go berserk if it poofs lol. like they said, dupe it, put it on some mules you never use then if you need one go back and switch and get it. oh and sell extras on ebays and make a shitload of money lol.

valk is pretty common on west nl..i use one on nec and druid. Most people who have unperm ones are people who are into the clan pking thing where you can easily get a perm from a friend/clan mate when youre done
