Help With Spyware Problem

Hey guys I went camping with my brother and 5 days later I come home and I got a virus..I ran my Norton and it still didnt get it out. Has any else got this virus and know how to get rid of it? The Virus is called "Spyware Quake"

some research on google told me that Spyware Quake is

1. a program the removes spyware (haha no)

2. It has been installed by a trojan called Vcodec trojan , you have to be a idiot to have this it starts a fake scam and stuff its complicated.i would try other scans with other program like AvG free edition to see if you get any warnings about Vcodec. its a pretty simple trojan to get rid of except it is in you registery file and you need to back them up..

but the simple answer is try downloading:

Adaware SE
AVG free edition
Ewido Trial

and see if it comes up with anything. just use google to find were to download the programs and you should be good.

To be honest...I've had better experience using Spybot S&D...It's picked up more malware program's that Ad-awareSE didn't. Try using that, If it still doesn't work...download HiJackThis!...Another good program , but one thing, never delete the logs that it makes. If you still cant get rid of it...I looked up removal instructions to get rid of it....Check this forum site out, it has manual removal instructions http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic47826.html

AVG only blocks trojans and viruses and not spyware. Ewido is a 30-day solution and is not as solid as a combo of AdAware AND Spybot. Together they will catch it all and you can use features such as Spybots Immunize...
