ok so im getting 2 10inch subwoofers.. but im not sure what kind of amp to get i currently have 2 polk subs that can handle up to 540 watts (each) and 270RMS (each) so does that mean i need to get an amp that can handle about 1000-1100 watts? or 500-600 RMS? thanks for any advice you guys can give me. would a sony xplod amp be decent? (since they are low in price)

If you get something that has 1000+ then you need to make shure it is a two way that way it splits the amps to the subs, An xplode is decent they have droped from the ranks over the yrs.
Get something like this
Alpine MRP-F200 bridging two of the channels.

lol well are you installing it your self or getting some one to do it for you???
Bridging is using both channels of a 2 channel power amp or bass head to drive a cabinet (Or cabinets) full range another way to explain it is Bridging a amp allows you to "Short" the two channels of you amp together into one output channel, Turning a two-channel amp into a one channel amp.
