They both come handy in PvP.. id say lightning. Their damage can get way higher than fire damage

Nah Fire is better. Lightning has a shorter range and you cannot snipe with it.

my buddy used to use meteor and firewall so people couldn't even step outside or they would burn to death in an instant...just ashes, haha but this was about 4 or 5 years ago

it really depends on who you are fighting, when i was up against barbs i would use blizzard a few times when they are in WW..when they were stuck in it they were basically dead but still moving, or an amazon..just teleport in quick, do a few quick novas and they're dead in a second..depdning on their stats. It all depends..i could own some Necros in 1/2 sec and some i couldn't even get near or my attack were so weak it wouldnt manage..

Fire could own one person but light could suck..vica verca, depends on who you are fighting, hope you enjoyed my little story

Lightning can be powerful however it depends on the luck of the hit lets say

4-43,000 damage, it could be a really hard hit or moderate damage, i would prefer a fire sorc but in the end if your dueling in pubbies you can expect to be absorbed to the point you dont do any damage.

it's hard to say. fire has the range and can still be powerful if built right. then again lightning is better in the way that it can do mass damage, and in pvp the damage done is reduce 1/6? or 1/8? one of them so lightning can still do alot even w/ the damage factor.

1/6 of a 24k FB is still 4k.. then you factor in 75% of 4k (Res) = 1k dmg not taking into account sorb or stacked res... however you're still doing ~1k dmg to an average PvP who doesn't sorb... and given the power of a 200fcr Fire Sorc ... a fballer wins hands down every time. given equal gear, i will still say that fire owns light any day..

i recently sold most of my fire gear, and i probably owned light sorcs 5-1 every time over the course of her pvp career. there just isnt a comparison between the 200fcr fire sorc in a Good Mannered duel. using hydras to fhr lock your opponent and spamming FBs at your hydras will own most builds. hardest is a Windy or BvC, other than that dueling GM with some skill and practice, you should be able to own.

I preferd full Vita 200fcr fire over any other sorc, haven;t gone Max Block with one yet, however i'd assume this may be the best route to go. With sorcs it really comes down to 80%equip and 20% skill/luck. You gotta learn where and when to cast and hit the proper breakpoints with your gear. FCR will own dmg any day with a sorc. Hands down.

While dueling, he only does 1/6 of his damage. So.. his max damage would be around 12k, Then with max res on the other char, It's like 4k ( max damage)

The person he is dueling can dodge the lightning, as it is slower than fire.
The person he is dueling can sorb, and make it do nothing
The lighting sorc could hit really low damage, + if you could get 4k w/ pvp penatly, you probably have shitty fcr. Which means a hammerdin can chase you down and own you

I'd say fire. The lightning max damage seems insane but after getting hit with it a few times and judging battles against good fire sorcs, most light sorcs let that number go to their heads and don't fight very well. (most, not all)

Snipe is kind of like desynch on a fire sorc, in the case of which you spam invisible fireballs.

I agree with you completely, imo light sorc is the best PvM char, and is capable of dealing out the most damage in the shortest amount of time.

hammerdin has to be best pvm char...it can kill absolutely anything...i honestly dont like light sorces at all...i've never had much success with them...give me a good orber any day.

Hammerdin is probably best for CSing, etc, but Light sorc is much better for Baaling, MFing and general slaughter.

IMO i enjoy fire sorc's , more range with firebolt, but light sorc's can get more damage and be annoying for nk'ing / tg'ing. I had good success with both

fire pwns light unless you have decent gear on a light sorc, if uve got good enough gear on your light sorc it will tear apart a fire sorc
