PvP Fire Auradin Guide
#1
The Forewarning : This character is expensive, even if you are ladder. This character will utilize items that are from ladder, and give the holy fire aura. This character will need to be g-rushed, chaosed, baaled, and then the stats / skills used (for very base str / dex). This character is NOT good for pvm

What an auradin is and does : The auradin is considered a coward out of most pvp charactes, which it is in most duels, but they only call you that because they can't catch you and kill you. The auradin uses auras from items, and conviction (you put skill points into conviction, but not holy fire, remember that, because once again, holy fire comes from the items). You will charge around holding shift with charge on left click, and conviction on right, killing most of you're pvp oppenents.

1) Gear:

Helmet: Kira's Guardian (Um'ed, preferably starting w/ a 70res one to allow for a 85% res all boost here)
Amulet: Mara's Kaleidoscope
Armor: Dragon Mp Shroud
Shield: Dragon Paladin Shield (use one with high +resists, mine has +45 and is a protector shield... The best choice would be a sacred targe)
Switch Shield: Spirit Shield (MUST be in a paladin shield with low strength requirements!)
Weapon: Hand of Justice Berzerker Axe (Berzerker axe is easier to use than a phase blade because of dexterity requirements of a phase blade, it is a viable secondary option though)
Switch Weapon: Call to Arms (for battle orders)
Ring1: Ravenfrost (+20 dex is a must to supplement the low dexterity of the build!)
Ring2: Bul-Kathos Wedding Band (% irrelivant) or another Ravenfrost
Gloves: Bloodfist (Upgraded preferred for more defense)
Belt: Verdungo's Hearty Cord (*This is your only source of damage reduction! 15%DR is a MUST to handle any kind of physical attack)
Boots: Sandstorm Treck (+str is irrelivant, +vit will be important though)

Sorb Gear (Just incase.. Smile ):
Infernostride
Thundergod's Vigor
Dwarf Star, Wisp Projector
This character will probably need a high stat anni + torch to be successful in having high health.

2) Stats:

This all depends on if you used the gear my build uses, and a high anni and torch.
I use a base of 26 str, and base dex. I use a 20 stat torch and a 13 stat anni.
You can calculate the base str you will need by following this formula :

Character level x 0.375 x 2 + 5 + 6 + str from treks + str from torch + str from anni

You can calculate the base dex you will need by following this formula :

Dex from ravens + 5 + 6 + Stats from anni + stats from torch

The stats you do not use in STR and DEX, you will put in vitality.

3) Skills:
Combat Skills | Defensive Auras | Offensive Auras
Resist Fire: Maxed (passive bonus to holy fire aura damage)
Salvation: Maxed (passive bonus to holy fire aura damage)
Conviction: Maxed (active cutting of enemy resistances)
Holy Shield: Maxed (to BLOCK, silly! Although the chance will be low.. it does add defense though, which you will need vs aggresive low AR melee characters)
Charge: 10 (main attack and method of any type of movement in duels)

*You MUST use at least an annihilus charm and the battle command from a call to arms in order to force conviction to reach it's maximum potential of -150% enemy resistances at level 25, if you have a paladin torch as well disregard this as it will not apply to your character)

NOTE : Hotkeys ASDF will be very useful, and you will be holding shift down and charging (charge will be on left click, conviction of right). Z and X will be useful for battle command and battle orders.
My hotkeys :
A = Charge
S = Conviction
D = Salvation
F = Holy Shield
Z = Battle Command
X = Battle Orders

4) Charms:

Other than the anni and torch, you will need 2x 5 fhr charms, and a lot of resistance charms.
I chose not to use offensive aura charms because all they do is raise your conviction, which does nothing because you will achive 25 convic from Mara's
+ ptorch

NOTE: If dueling are foher, his convic will probably be higher than your's, and it will cancel out yours, meaning your conviction will not - res from him, and in this case stack resistance using salvation, and charge him to death.

What you want to acheive :
Charge Damage: around 5600
FHR: 90% (4-frames) (you will need 2x 5fhr charms for this)
FBR: 2-frames

Breakpoints :

Frames.....Fhr needed
9.........|0
8.........|7
7.........|15
6.........|27
5.........|48
4.........|86 <--- You want to get this one
3.........|200

FBR (faster block rate) with Holy Shield
Frames.....Fbr needed
2.........|0 <--- You will automatically get this one when you cast Holy Shield
1.........|86

A question that everyone will ask :
Q : Why don't get you max block?
A : Max block will prevent a lot of stats from getting into vitality, making it inferior when dueling an endurance duel. Plus, auradins are not offensive (only if a person is stacking + sorbing, you will need to get offensive, maybe equip a griefz, and charge at them)

pretty nice to-the-point guide, and easy to follow Smile
add a little explanation as to what is an auradin tho, and how it works etc

Nice guide, but why Spirit? Explain your equipment choices. If you used Zaka you would get max block with almost base DEX, meaning that you won't be raped by any barb, especially because you don't have Teleport. Zaka also gives a whole lot of other handy mods.

And why BK?

edit: Lol my bad, didn't read properly.

Spurs are BM though, so disallowed from GM duels. Infernostrides only give 10 max fire and are allowed.

Tom you know as well as i do that auradins are weak pkers they are so easy to absorb... I mean i'm sure they could tear the shit out of pk games if people didn't stack/absorb but thats not going to happen often and even then druids would give you a hard painful ass beating equillivent to that of some poor soul in prison getting dry anal raped. Anyways this is a pretty solid guide so my hats off to you.
