What is the Best Digital Camera Brand?

I'm looking one that wont be majorly outdated in a few years.. high hopes? Maybe...
I've seen 8 megapixels for around 250. Any advice would be great, Just a top brand, and maybe even a specific model. imo canon is by far the best digital camera brand, ive had 3 digi cams and my canon has lasted me the longest and has never needed to b sent in for repair

Thanks for the input guys, but i did a **** load of research and found this as the best camera for under $400. I've done well over 20 hours of research (maybe more the 30.. sad i know, but when you are going to buy something, take the fing time to get the best for your money!)... This thing is the shit, if any of you are going to get a digital camera, this is the only choice~http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/contro...elid=13019~other then the fuji ~http://www.fujifilm.com/products/digital...index.html~ Both of them are godly. But the SD700 IS is more auto, and simpler to use. As the Fuji is more manual, but if your a pro, can make astonishing pics. But, since im a lazy ass. im going for the auto. laugh:

Cannon makes great cameras. Although the last 3 I've had we're Sony and I love them all, I'd go with Cannon or Sony. Sony memory sticks are very low on price now too. I believe you can get a 1 gig stick for about 20$.

The return policy sounds great, i'll look into it, thx. And $20 for 1gig! thats the ****ing incredable part in my mind :p. I know for a fact 1gig for canon is much more.
