Best Pvp Smiter + Skill?

salvation is probably the dumbest thing to invest points in. Ever.
if u wanna invest in resistance auras, then put in a single-resist skill so that ur maximum resists will be increased.
Im not sure but i think exile has +5cold/fire max res, id suggest adding 10 into light resist aura so u will always have 80%light res, and when using the aura u would have 85 with 100+stacked, making most convictions usless. Ur other resists should already be stacked by like 20 and u dont often see people using conviction with anything other than lightning

but thats only if u actually want to put points into resistance auras, i like fraters skill tree tho, with a grief the charge would do amazing dmg and might even kill most life sorcs in 1 or 2 charges, without even the need of smite xD
would also destroy a necro's bone armor in a hit or two, leaving them open for a finish with smite or even another charge
for barbs, i dont think that it would be possible to actually win if they are full melee, even with 60k defense most barbs easily land hits (trust me on that one, ive had the misery of experiencing it)

Unless you plan to invest a ton of points into the singular res auras like res light aura there is no point. If I remember correctly for every 2 points u get one passive bonus, however this passive bonus again depends if you have max res in the first place, which many smiters, especially the ones that use enigma wont have. Both you and FraterPerdurabo are assuming every smiter has max res. With the 49dr setup. Ber'd Shako, Enigma, 15dr dungos, upd hoz/eexile, (boots I'll assume either etreks or waterwalks), bk, raven, 30maras, grief, bloodfist -- you are /not/ getting max res, unless you have all res scs or res gcs in your inventory.

FraterPerdurabo-> Yes he asked for a smiter build, but yours isnt the only build available and so therefore I am "challenging" what you're saying is true for your build to give further insight. Your opinion of your pure smiter build being better than V/T is your own, and I'm in no way bashing you or the build. I've faced many pure smiters in smite only duels and I can take them no problem. Maybe your setup has max res but mine doesnt so I do things in a different way, it doesnt make yours a better than mine I'll tell you that. These days most smiters I encounter use enigma, and that is what I base what i say on. Including the kind of setup I mentioned above since the res will only be around 50 without res charms. If you havent actually tried the V/T build you wont know how good it is.

I've made your build before, as a matter of fact the build you have proposed was the first I made. However it isnt as versatile as you are saying and therefore I moved on to try the V/S and V/T builds with the V/T build having lots of success. I've actually made all these types of builds, can you say the same? If you have than hey, maybe your build works for you but again there is more than one way to make a smiter. All my opinion of course. From the things you say you seem to believe yours is the one true build well let me tell you that in a smite vs smite duel V/T vs. your pure smiter doesnt have any real advantage over mine, and as in any smiter duel it all depends on life only. As for casters, I dont even bother with the smite skill as I can duel them with the aura and successfully charge them easily with my single point into charge. I find it funny that you say having 1 point isnt adequate enough since my "half assed" one point with all gear makes my charge lvl 25.

okay so i had hoped to get a few replies but a full blown discussion i never expected, this is badass! hahaha. anyways, thanks guys for ur help! i kind of decided on a build in the middle of both, i added a few here and there and everywhere....and i annhiliate most ppl, but theres a few i still wanna be able to put down that i cannot ( for example a few godly es sorcs, and some VERY good barbs, and very very few smiters). i decided to rebuild and go with a pure smiter/charger for now, and see how it works out. later im goin to try the v/t build because ive seen a few that rock and it intrigues me, so i will build one of those after i see if i can make my pure smiter any more godly.

however i wont be using enig....i think its flat out stupid to use enig over coh in a smiter build. COH is by far the best choice ive come to find. it outperforms even a godly Fort.( and YES i have tried both out and YES coh really did outperform it. i tested it specifically) You have more life with fort but the ED (despite a few of your beleifs) DOES NOT add to smite dmg, therefore proves subpar compared to COH's 2skills/superior resists/ DR/ STR.

WEAPON PRIMARY: GRIEF ZERK 40ias/395Dmg, GRIEF PB 39IAS/381Dmg, and for the really tough caster i throw on 408%ed EBOTDZ
(the phase blade actually outperforms in most cases due to its already faster attack speed. the zerker has potential for a high IAS max breakpoint however starts out slower then the PB. i dont care about the repairing that doesnt bother me. sumtimes the zerker is better due to the longer range, yet it is slower)

( i have assorted SORB'ing gear depending on what im dueling but generally it makes no difference. most chars that i would need to sorb, die b4 i take any dmg. one exception are very skilled trap sins that spam mindblast and keep me from hittin them long enuf for the traps to eventually kill me. i have found very very few skilled enuf to keep me off of them long enuf to kill me but those are the few i want to annhiliate )

1. Eth Bugged Archon COH

3. Up'd Gores
4. Perfect 6/6/4 CTA FLAIL (less dex required to use, therefore not dependent on ravenfrost to use,meaning i can switch soj for raven while BO'ing and HS'ing for a boost in life and defense)
5. Crafted BLOOD gloves giving 10% CB and 20%IAS (removes need of laying of hands, plus adds crushing blow, as well as adding str on a GG pair)
6. PCOMBS with better mods or with mods at all
7. ANNI w/ PERFECT attributes/exp gain
8. FHR SC's w/ good mods, preferably str or max dmg
9. 20 life scs w/ good mods
10. Eth UP'd HOZ (for use against those annoying GM duelers that whine about lifetap even tho they are dead b4 it casts, lol)

Looks good, but Zaka does not give a bonus to BO ~~

As you read on it, Zaka gives +2 Pala skills and +2 Combat skills. BO is not a Pala skill, so you need a +2 all shiled (spirit) for BO.

Other than that, it looks good. I didn't bother counting your FHR, but do you reach 86%? If so, awesome, if not yet, keep trying.

oh duh i spaced that little tid bit of information out, i have a spirit layin around i just dont use it lol. hoz is good for a big boost in holyshield tho!

ebotd just for the high charge dmg, the sorcs or casters i cant one shot with grief i can easily 1 shot with the ebotd charge/fanat. i can take out most wind druids the same way. theres no particular reason for ebotd other then the high dmg. while i had it, i was using my edeathz over the ebotd but i traded it....so im left with botd.

as for FHR....

coa: 30%
dungos:10%
3x sc's: 15%

so total is 55%, i take it 86% is the benchmark? in that case ill just get a few more sc's and remove a couple life scs. unless i can get a good pcomb with FHR that would be nice.

UPDATE: i just traded for 6 Pcombs each with life ranging from 24-30! helllz yeah. and i got 1 sc that does 3max dmg+19 AR+5% FHR. i need a few more FHR sc's to max it out

ok question. eth exile gives level 13 defiance aura when equipped.. would that level 13 defiance aura stack on my level 20 defiance aura or vice versa?

ur lvl 20 defiance is synergy to holy shield, so yes it will stack, u will get 13 defiance aura equipped as well. basically yes u end with more defence.

COH is only good for the resistances if you want to pvp.
Its easily the best for ubers or for rushes, but when it comes to pvp, enigma for smiters, isnt ALWAYS used for tele. 45% rw 5% to life, +2 skills and the best is the str req you receive from it. Awesome if you want to use a COA which has a 174str req. At lvl 84 you receive a 63 str req, and it keeps getting better depending on your lvl
