energy mana regen?

hey this guy i was with in duel game told me that b/c he is es orb sorc and he put like 300 into energy he never runs out of mana when he does orb. his orb lvl was higher than mine and required more mana yet he never ran out, and i had more mana regen but his regen'd faster. he said the reason for this was that he had 300 energy and tht pts in to energy is not just mana, but also gives more mana regen

is this true?

These are not exact numbers but just an example. Let's say your character naturally regens at 5% regen w/o buffs of any kind. You start out with 100 mana = 5 mana regeneration rate on one regen moment. So likewise if you have 1000 mana 5% of that is 50 mana and so on....

This is also true with any buff regen% more mana = more mana regen by % to base mana. 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60%, and so on.
